When I traveled to Minnesota for Easter weekend I finally got to try Mill Valley Kitchen, a new restaurant I has been dying to go to. My mother goes at least once a week, or so it seems as every other time I am calling her she is leaving, and lots of college friends are always checking in on Facebook. It has quickly become a family and friend favorite!

I knew I would be a fan as soon as we pulled up and I saw they had valet. I kid, I kid, but I will admit Dallas is a valet city and it spoils you when you go elsewhere and CANNOT find parking when you dying to eat :)

Mill Valley has a very fresh menu and they try to use local ingredients when possible. I have read a number of articles about trying to eat food from within thirty miles of you, but would be lying if I said I did that. However, I do love to support local farmers and was very happy to see Mill Valley Kitchen is doing that in Minnesota.

I started off with an incredibly refreshing "Red Moon". It was just delicious and had I not paced myself I would likely have downed it in just a few minutes.

While it has become incredibly common, I still love when you can see into the kitchen of a restaurant. I love watching the chefs prepare meals and work "under pressure". Somehow it makes it seem so much better/fresher/cleaner.

Another perk of Mill Valley Kitchen is that their menu shows all the nutritional information for their dishes. I opted for Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil Flatbread which was DELICIOUS. I may have eaten the entire thing myself :)

Everyone else at the table opted for the Reuben which was a special. Judging by what was left on their plates it was just as delicious as my flatbeard.

The atmosphere of Mill Valley is distinctly different from other Minneapolis restaurants in my opinion. It is very fresh (they have lovely and huge floral arrangements I adored) and feels much more LA/trendy than other area haunts.

Since we went for lunch the bar was empty, but I have a sneaking suspicion it is the place to be after work. I read online that the majority of wines Mill Valley Kitchen serves have some sort of connection on Minnesota which is fun.

The walls are covered in vibrant art work. No detail has been overlooked whether it be food or decor. I loved this circle work by the ladies room.

This modern painting fit in perfectly with the decor of the rest of the restaurant too.

While I am unsure how many Minnesota readers, or even just readers that occasionally travel to the Twin Cities, I have I just had to share this wonderful restaurant with you all. I am hoping Mill Valley Kitchen might want to expand because I loved it that much, and I eat out often. The atmosphere and food are delightful and delicious. I cannot wait to visit again and would highly suggest those that are able do the same!

GAH! I cannot believe this is the LAST Friday Five....

1. Viggle

I downloaded this app some time ago but it was not until some friends on Twitter filled me in last week that I finally figured out how to rack up points. Every time you watch TV you can "Check-In" and start gaining Viggle points. You earn one point for every minute of TV you watch and points can be redeemed for gift cards. It takes 9,000 to get a Starbucks gift card, but you can easily gain that in just a week. Some shows have bonus points so you gain an additional amount of points on top of those you earn for the minutes you spend watching and there are numerous other ways to gain even more points.

2. International Delights Iced Coffee

Life of Megan introduced me to this AMAZING treat and I feel like a changed woman! The iced coffee is available in three flavors. I have tried the mocha and vanilla both of which I LOVE. This sweet so I "coffee" mine down with some real coffee and then add ice. It is the perfect pick-me-up and at $3.50 a carton I get 6 cups worth of iced coffee for the price of one at a chain!

3. San Pellegrino

A few weeks ago I noticed that their were new flavors of San Pellegrino sparkling fruit beverages. The limonata was a long time favorite, but blood orange and grapefruit might soon take the cake. They are delicious and so refreshing in the Texas heat!

4. Tinsley Mortimer's Southern Charm

I had the most delightful time at Tinsley Mortimer's book signing last Friday. There was a complete candy buffet, delicious drinks and each guest was also gifted a copy of Southern Charm which Tinsley graciously signed for us all. I cannot wait to start reading this poolside this weekend!

5. Golf and the Byron Nelson

Last Saturday, I spent the day at the Byron Nelson Classic. Well, by the day I mean just over three hours because the heat starts to get to you in May in Texas. Anyhow, even during my shorter stint I got to see all the big golfers I came for. Phil Mickelson was great, Ernie Els is always a good one and I loved watching James Driscoll play since he went to Taft. It was a fun way to spend the morning and I hope I get lucky enough to attend next year too!

Spun Sugar Paperie

Last summer Melissa introduced me to the most talented artist. Laura of SpunSugarPaperie (how fun is that name) paints the most darling and detailed watercolors. The first time I visited her etsy shop I knew we would become fast friends as we loved all the same things....sweets, Paris and all things feminine! I think you all are just going to go gaga for her stuff too (not to mention her AMAZING prices!).

I placed an order from Laura right away and bought an original watercolor depicting a Chanel bottle of Coco Mademoiselle (above) and then a box of my beloved Laduree macarons:

The macaron print is a perfect addition to my kitchen and the Chanel perfume looks divine in my guest room.

I was SO impressed with the quality of these original paintings that I commissioned Laura to do a painting for my mother's birthday. Of course it had to be blue and white:

Isn't it wonderful? I liked it so much I almost kept it for myself...alas, I gave in and did gift it and it is now on my mother's bedside table.

Laura is just a dream to work with and I cannot wait to get my next two commissions in the mail!

While SpunSugarPaperie mostly offers paintings, there is also a darling selection of cards (made from your selection of prints), scarves and aprons. Laura will also design just about anything else your heart desires and I can vouch (as can Melissa) that she can make anything look beautiful!

Mary Baldwin

No visit to Americus, GA is complete with several stops, one being Mary Baldwin.

It is a delightful housewares store that is jam packed with all things lovely. My mother has been shopping there since we first lived in Americus and so going back each time we visit is a must.

There was lots and lots of blue and white.

Brides can register at Mary Baldwin. While the bride's placesetting was indeed lovely, I admit I was more interested in the darling table it was set on. How whimsical is that?

This large Eiffle Tower would be so fun in a kitchen or French themed room.

I always love chinoiserie accessories and there was no shortage at Mary Baldwin.

I am a long time fan of Isis Ceramics by Deborah Sears (I am hoping to visit the factory this summer!!!) and was THRILLED when she partnered with Juliska to do a more affordable set of china. Here is to hoping Country Estate eventually comes in her famed blue and white.

My mother and I were quick to spot these Tobacco Leaf pots. They were just lovely!

There were monkeys everywhere so I was right at home!

I simply ADORED this bunny painting! I love bunnies and this painting was just so warm.

Aren't these birds delightful? They were one of very items in the store, along with all the monkey items.

Even though Mary Baldwin is primarily a home store that does not mean they do not carry some fun tailgating goodies. I spied lots of UGA and Auburn things!

This shelf was one of my very favorites in the entire store. I loved all the chinoiserie finds as well as the tropical flamingos and monkey candlesticks.

I loved these so much that I am now regretting not buying them...I guess another trip to Americus is in order!

Dillard's Finds

This weekend I hit the clothing bargain jackpot! I just so happened to have some time to kill and remembered I had read about a Dillard's Clearance Center that was in the area I was trying to kill said time. Since I had nothing to lose I went ahead and took the plunge and visited the Irving Mall. While most of the stores were empty and closed up Dillard's was still going strong and boy do I mean strong...the deals were out of this world! All the items in store were at least an additional 40% off their lowest marked price while dresses in particular were 50% off the lowest sticker price. While the store is organized by gender and item you really do have to sift through the racks in each area as it is not nearly as organized as a typical store. However, when you find dresses that were originally $120 for $7.50 you really cannot complain. I felt like I made it out like a bargain bandit as I snatched up six dresses for under $100 (my original total should have been over $700)! All the dresses were name brands that Dillard's carries (Antonio Melani, Tahari, Jessica Howard and Alex Marie) and new with tags. Here are a few that I snatched up:

This dress is very Betty Draper in fit and style. It is great for work, but still very Lilly since it is pink and green!

Polos are such classics. You can wear them with virtually anything to/for virtually anything. This light blue is perfect with white jeans during the summer but also looks great with a black cardigan for cooler days.

Lilly Pulitzer Andover Dress, Size 2- SOLD

This dress has lots of sentimental value...I wore it on my first trip to India and rode an elephant in it. Of course it has been washed since then :) The fit of this dress is great, however, it is not the best on those with a long torso like me. It is VERY flattering and great for travel.

This is a darling linen Lilly shift. While I think it is in GREAT condition, I would not say it is perfect. Even with that being said there are no stains or marks. It looks great and is a fun and vibrant print for your summer months.

Forever 21 Orange Skinny Jeans, Size 27- SOLD

I purchased these darling orange jeans online and sadly they are too small. They fit like a 2/4 and not a 4/6. I am selling them for what I paid, including shipping and tax. This color is now sold out online so snatch these up if you have been searching for orange!

JCP City Street Purple Skinny Jeans, Size 7- SOLD

These purple skinnys have been worn one time and are in perfect condition. The fit is close to a 6 and the waist is roomy and comfortable. These are a great deal!!

Lilly Pulitzer Parrot Dress, Size 2- $70

I purchased this dress online and am sad to report the fit is just off on me as I am so tall (it hits me in the wrong spot). The full skirt and sash make this ultra feminine and the adjustable straps allow you to tailor things to your liking.

You've Got to Have FRIENDS!

This is a "MeMe Bird" post. Every year at Camp Greystone Libby tells the MeMe Bird story to every group of campers at every session. Her mother was looking out the window years and years ago and saw a young bird wobbling around the yard. The bird was rather plump and kept screaming "Me, me, me, me" as is wobbled around. After a few moments a much larger bird came into the picture carrying some food. The little bird came running over while screaming "Me, me!" and took the food from the other bird. The plump little bird was obviously very selfish and was named the "Meme Bird" as it wanted everything for itself. So today, is my MeMe bird post. I am sure you are wondering what that means, aren't you?

The weeks are flying by these days and summer is just around the corner. It is hard to believe I only have one more Friday Five after today's.... This week's Friday Five seems pretty cheerful in subjects and colors...let's see if you agree:

1. Anna Griffin Invitations

I have always loved all things Anna Griffin, but just noticed how large her invitation line has gotten. It could also be that no store I have been in carried so many options, but regardless is it SO darling and feminine. I loved the display Needle in a Haystack has going on (this was just one of three or four Anna Griffin shelves they have).

2. Gigi New York All-In-One-Bag

I won this clutch about a month ago in an online contest and simply ADORE it! It is the perfect size and holds everything I need (phone, keys, wallet and lip gloss). The pink color I won is vibrant and matches the majority of my wardrobe perfectly. I now have my eye on an orange as my next purchase.

3. Lilly Pulitzer Home at stelladallas

I went to the opening of stelladallas on Wednesday evening. While the company, food and macaron favors were delightful, the real show stopper was the Lilly Pulitzer home line. I had only seen these items in magazines and online so I was really looking forward to seeing them in person and they did not disappoint. If I had to pick one thing I think I would just go with some pillows. They add a punch of prep and color to your room without overdoing it.

4. Pink Goblets

I spotted these pink gobletss at Macy's last Sunday and just love them. I believe that they are Martha Stewart, but am not 100% sure and I was unable to find them online. I actually have water glasses in the same color and am thinking these goblets might be a good addition to my collection. They were $12 or $14 each so it is time to keep my eyes peeled for a coupon or sale I guess.

5. Growing Tomatoes

My little plants are getting strong and really growing. Since taking this photo I have spotted three more little fruits. I cannot wait until they ripen and I can start using them in salads and other dishes!

The Houses of Americus

The town of Americus, GA is a real gem. It is filled with some of the most wonderful people as well as lots of beautiful architecture. I asked my mother to drive me around before we had lunch on Saturday afternoon and could not resist snapping shots of the beautiful homes. It was just beautiful house after beautiful house. You really have to look for a "bad" house in this town! I was almost ready to put in an offer on one of those that was for sale and move back as I just loved the feel of the town and these homes! I hope you all enjoy looking at these lovelies as much as I did!

Very rarely have I ever asked you, my readers, for anything. In fact, I can actually only recall two times in almost 4.5 years that I ever asked you to help me out. Well, that time has come again and I hope I can count on you to follow through and help me go out with a bang!!!

Budget Teeth Whitening

A few weeks ago I read about an at home whitening trick on Pinterest. All you needed was a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and a q-tip. I did a little bit of research online before trying this to ensure it was safe for my teeth and gums and felt confident it was not going to ruin my teeth after navigating pages of information. In fact, I even found out that hydrogen peroxide is one of the main ingredients in whitening strips and you will not die if you ingest a little. Now, with that being said, before you try this you might also want to research for yourself (I will not take any responsibility if things go wrong!), especially if you have sensitive gums, are pregnant or have other health concerns. Also, I think this would only be best for adults and if you are under 18 you should consult your dentist and doctor before trying it.

Anyhow, I feel compelled to write about this as I tried it for the first time last Sunday and the next morning my teeth were quite noticeably whiter. I tweeted about the "trick" last week and got lots of replies so here goes...

PS- be warned there are some close-up photos :)

What you need:

Hydrogen Peroxide (be sure it has not expired)

Q-tips

Toothbrush (optional)

*I added a step to my routine and finish off with a toothbrush.

I do my whitening PRIOR to brushing my teeth per online recommendations.

First, dip the q-tip in hydrogen peroxide and rub it across your teeth. I dip mine in once for my top teeth and then again before I do my bottom teeth. If there is a tooth I want to focus on I will come back after rubbing the q-tip over all my teeth and give that one for extra loving. If you have used whitening strips you will notice that the hydrogen peroxide tastes the same.

Let the hydrogen peroxide sit on your teeth for 30 to 60 seconds (I opt for the 60 seconds). It will start to foam which is fine. Now, you can either rinse your mouth here and be done or you can do what I do and add a step.

I pour hydrogen peroxide over my tooth brush (this sanitizes it too) and then brush my teeth with it for about 45-60 seconds. I then rinse my mouth out before brushing my teeth with toothpaste. As mentioned my teeth have become noticeably whiter in just one week (six days really as I skipped a day)! Who knew that for under $2 you could whiten your own teeth?!

Friday Five

Thank you all for the outpouring of love and kindness on yesterday's post. I have truly enjoyed reading all your comments (I even cried when reading a few!) and though I am not sure what the next few weeks, months and years hold I am hopeful that we will all cross paths again after May 31st, 2012.

In other news, another Friday means another Friday Five! What am I going gaga over this week?

1. The Boxwood Elephant at Madison

I popped into one of my all time favorite stores, Madison, this week and about died when I saw this giant elephant made out of boxwood. It is even more amazing in person. Truly a one-of-a-kind piece...I almost feel like it was made for me ;)

2. The Shops at Target: CosBar

While I did pick up a few candles from the Privet line at Target, the CosBar line was surprisingly my favorite of all the shops. I have shopped at CosBar in Vail, Co and Edina, MN and have always had a wonderful experience. I was not so sure what to expect from their line, but let me say that their tweezers and foot file are the best I have EVER owned. The tweezers are $4 and just like the much more expensive Tweezerman cousin. The foot file ($6) is the better than the ones used at most nail salons. It leaves your feet so soft and works 1000 times better than a pumice stone. It is so amazing that I called my mother after using it one time and had her go out and buy one, she agrees with me and you know how we are nail people. I have gone back to buy multiple backups, it is just THAT good. I am actually so impressed with these two products that I plan to go back to Target this weekend and purchase the light-up travel mirror and towelettes from the CosBar shop.

3. JCP

Well, JCP has done it again with their Spring collection. Like my friend, According to Nina, I picked up two pairs of shoes this week as well as a new dress (I just ordered the one pictured above). Their prices just cannot be beat and they offer great service and LIGHTING FAST shipping! I continue to be impressed and like them more and more.

4. Z Gallerie Accessories

I ventured into Z Gallerie for the first time in a few years on Saturday and found far too many things I liked. From monkeys to elephants, they had it covered.

There were also vibrant colors everywhere. I will certainly be visiting again very soon!

5. Sissy's Southern Kitchen

After a disappointing service experience my first visit my friends and I headed back to Sissy's on Derby de Mayo. Their fried chicken is some of the best in Dallas as is their mac and cheese. Thankfully, we had a much more positive experience this time around. You also just cannot beat the atmosphere. I mean, they have plates hanging on the wall and use Spode china....need I say more?

That's a Wrap!

This post has been a long time coming and it has not been the easiest path either.

I have been writing Monograms and Manicures for just over four years now. If you have been reading you know by now that I am SO grateful for all the joy it has brought to my life over the past four years. I have met so many AMAZING women, many of whom I now consider my closest friends, and been connected with brands I would never have found otherwise. I also have been treated to numerous once-in-a-lifetime experiences. While I am beyond thankful for all of these things I would be lying to myself and to you my readers if I said blogging has not taken a toll on me. Quite frankly, I am just getting a little bit burnt out. Not only can it be time consuming, but it is incredibly easy to start to make your blog your life. In the past few months I have started to see a change in blogging. It seems like so many people are now being fulfilled by their blogs. While it is something that defines me, it is just that, a THING. It is not my everything or my entire life. I personally only want my blog to be a part or aspect of my life, but I do not want or need my world to revolve around it. While I LOVE sharing things with you I do not want to live my life for my blog. With that being said, after much thought and lots of prayer, I feel called to take a break from blogging.

This decision did not come easily for me. As I just said, I have gained SO much through blogging and have really enjoyed it. When I was praying I was SO hopeful that God would give me the answer I wanted...."Keep blogging, look at what you gain from it!" but that is just not that case. I feel strongly about what I need to do and so I am acting upon it. There is no one reason I am taking a break and I suppose my decision seems rather selfish, but I just want to "stop and smell the roses" for awhile. 2012 is turning out to be pretty busy and I have lots of commitments I really want to give my time and effort to. I will continue blogging through the end of May (I still have have some very fun posts scheduled until the 31st...think home tours, Starbucks, Friday Fives and maybe even a few more giveaways!!), but after that I am not sure how things will continue. Will I update once a week? Perhaps. Will the break be two weeks, two months or two years? I just do not know... Will I come back full time in September? Maybe, but who knows right now. I will likely continue to update my blog Facebook page every so often and I will still be on Twitter for the time being. A break, be it temporary or permanent, is what I need right now.

British Book Club

Per my last post, I hosted Book Club on Friday evening. We only host once a year and I picked the month of May for 2012. I did a British themed event and had so much fun coming up with the decor and ideas. This is a bit of a photo overload (I wanted to share a handful with my family and friends who could not attend) so I apologize in advance. Also, I am not sure what happened with the photo upload, but all the pictures are showing up cloudy/blurry.

I made a fun little sign for my door. I actually put the wrong one up though...the one shown has spelling error...whoops!

My friend Katie brought two Duchess Kate masks and one Queen mask which we had the most fun time playing around with. We staged a handful of photos including that shown above.

God save the Queen!

Upon arrival guests could enjoy tea sandwiches (chicken salad and egg salad) or a petite quiche as well as a Pimm's Cup (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic).

The coffee table was also home to all my commemorative copies of Royal Wedding magazines and goods.

The above photo was taken a few weeks back, but is a good shot of the bunting that I made. It was the perfect extra touch and really dressed up my little condo.

*To make this bunting I simply printed out Union Jacks on a high quality printer. I then cut my ribbon to the appropriate length and spaced the flags accordingly before taping them to the ribbon. I made my bunting double sided so I used two flags at each spot.*

I added more bunting around the rooms as I had so many flags left over.

Since we also celebrated the one year anniversary of the Royal Wedding we enjoyed the "top of the wedding cake." I made a white cake with vanilla butter cream frosting. I then placed some British themed cookies my dear blog friend Jennifer sent me around the cake. Finally, I added a miniature Royal Wedding bunting to the cake for the ultimate touch.

Above is a photo of the almost ready table. You can get a full feel for the room here (this is one of the only shots that shows the set table AND the bunting).

I used a blue and white fabric I had as a tablecloth. I then dressed the table up with my white crowns, which were home to red carnations for the evening, sparkly red garland, doilies, which doubled as place mats, and polka dot napkins. Guests brought their own glass from the living area to the table.

I was thrilled with the end result!!

Red tulips were FINALLY secured and the dining area was ready for guests!

I did not get any photos of the food, but I served Bubba's chicken tenders and biscuits, The Pioneer Woman's Rosemary Potatoes and a garden salad.

I made little Pimm's Cup recipe cards as well as menu cards which I placed out and about.

I used a Pimm's Cup recipe I found online and then slightly adjusted it for this printable. I sent guests home with a smaller printout of this recipe too.

I think little things like this are such a fun and festive way to carry a theme throughout your home.

I also made a "God Save the Queen" sign which I shared Friday. The lighting makes it rather hard to read in the photo, but it was a fun touch.

There was NO shortage of red, white, blue and Unions Jacks....or an Royal Wedding memorabilia!

Of course no Book Club is complete without a group shot.

We did one funny....

and one serious.

I forgot to mention that fascinators were required for entry. It was such fun to see what everyone found and wore. I do have to admit, we were quite the stylish crowd.

No party is complete with out a parting treat. Holly of The Doughmestic Housewife made the most DARLING cookies for me. They were just as delicious as they looked and a perfect favor for this British themed evening!

I had such a lovely evening and so much fun preparing. I love a good themed party so Friday was no exception.

British Book Club

It is my turn to host book club this month (we host once a year and pick our month) so I am been hard at work getting everything in order for tonight. Thankfully, I started on some of my decor before my trip to Americus otherwise I am not sure I would have gotten it all done! We read Rebecca which takes place in England so I decided to combine it with my Royal Wedding Anniversary Party. Of course fascinators are required for entry and we will be enjoying the top layer of wedding cake :)

Target Jewels

I popped into Target this week and loved what was staring me in the eye as soon as I walked in. These fun necklaces were nautical and summery with a very wallet friendly price tag. There were starfish earrings available as well as a darling shades of blue ball necklace...all for under $20! Speaking of Target, are you as excited as I am for Sunday....The Shops at Target launch!

My Potted Garden

Just because I do not have a yard does not mean I cannot grow my own goods. I have been meaning to get a few things growing for some time, but finally made it to Home Depot over lunch and grabbed everything I needed to make it a reality. To my surprise, my Home Depot was having a "potted garden" event, so I got lots of needed advice and help. I am growing cherry tomatoes, a 50 day tomato, basil, mint and rosemary.

I spotted these darling coasters last week in Americus and could not resist snapping a picture of them (I have no idea who makes them though...). How cute are they?

Graduation Gift Guide

Over the past couple of weeks I have gotten a handful of emails about what to give friends and family for college graduation. I have compiled a list of five items for both the he or she in your life. Most of these items would also work for high school graduates. They are practical as well as fun gifts that I would love to get but are also a tad more unique then ever-so-common gift card. Enjoy!

For any etiquette question one might have this is the go-to source. Since life changes after graduation and one is presented to numerous social and work situations this is a great thing to have access to. I have a copy at work as well as home :)

I am a pashmina girl. I wear them through the seasons and dress them up as well as wear them daily. I think it would be perfect to give your graduate a pashmina in her school or sorority colors.

Magazine Subscription ($5 and up)

I know this sounds like sort of a lame gift to some of you, but when you move into a new place it is so fun to get mail and have things to look forward to. With the rush of graduation and getting settling into a new way of life magazines are really the last thing on your mind. Surprise your graduate with a fun or practical magazine subscription. I think Real Simple and Martha Stewart Living fit the practical bill while InStyle, Vogue and US Weekly are definitively more in the fun category.

Tiffany&Co. Pen ($110 and up)

While a tad pricier than the other items listed, this is by far the most practical. Everyone loves something in a little blue box and I can attest to adoring this gift. I keep mine in my wallet and have used it countless times. It is a little, but lovely luxury. You could also do this for a boy, obviously a more masculine option or even a Mont Blanc.

FOR HIM

Graphic Image Jotter ($41)

This is a great gift for someone entering the workforce. Men typically do not carry agendas so this dud can be whipped out when on an important on-the-go call or in a last minute meeting. It is really a perfect gift for those of all ages, not just the graduate.

Collegiate Needlepoint Key Fobs ($25)

Even though one is moving on up does not mean they will always hold a place in their heart for their alma mater. Key fobs are a wonderful and easy gift for the graduate.

I know I featured these last Friday, but I just think they are the ultimate gift. The block font is great for the man in your life and just in time for summer!

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

I cannot believe I am just now getting around to writing this post... Anyhow, a few months back I went to a screening of the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. I had extremely high hopes for this movie as it was not only a British flick (there were several Downton Abbey cast members in the film!), but took place in India.

As I have mentioned before, India is an extremely unique and eye opening country to visit. It is filled with so much culture and beauty, but it is also an extremely difficult place to live/visit. A drive that would take 75 minutes anywhere else in the world takes 4+ hours in India and many basic necessities are nonexistent. Not to many the clash between classes is rather disheartening and overwhelming. I think many that have been there would agree that the way India comes across in most TV shows and movies is not really how it is so I was unsure what to expect with The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Well, it really blew me away to be honest. It was so dead on that I felt like I was there. From the airport to the bus ride to the people to the hotel to the head bobbing (those of you that have been there know what I am talking about ;) )....everything was just as it actually is in India.

The cast of TBEMH was also simply phenomenal. They worked so well together and created a sort of chemistry between viewer and the film. You really feel for each character and learn to love (and maybe even dislike) them all.

I laughed and almost cried and left the theater feeling so happy. This was a feel good movie with a number of wonderful lessons. I would go as far to say that this is one of the best movies I have seen all year and a MUST see for those of all ages (even if you are not an anglophile)!

Americus Snapshots and Winners!

I simply had the BEST time in Georgia last week. On Tuesday afternoon, I headed out to Atlanta. We kicked off my trip with dinner at the lovely Piedmont Driving Club. The club was just beautiful and filled with lots of chinoiserie which I loved. My parents' friends who they met while living in India were our hosts and we had the most splendid time and fell in love with the peppermint ice cream and homemade hot fudge sauce (thank you to Stefanie for recommending it on Twitter!). On Wednesday morning I met a group of DARLING Twitter friends: SassySES, PreppyPaperGirl, Magnolias Marriage and Manhattan, Allie_in_GA and The Pink Clutch. Sadly, I neglected to take a photo as we had so much fun chatting away. I cannot wait to return to Atlanta so we can do it again! After our little meet and greet it was off to Americus!

The most darling little pup greeted my mother and I as soon as we arrived. He was my faithful companion all weekend.

I had not been back to Americus in 12 years so my mother took me on a little tour. There were SO many amazing homes....more photos to come!

We popped into some of our favorite stores, including Mary Baldwin in downtown Americus.

American Idol contestant, Phillip Phillips, is from a town just down the road from Americus so there were signs all over in support of him. Fingers crossed he continues to do well!

The main reason for going to Americus was to attend one of my dear friend's weddings on Saturday. It was hands down one of the most stunning events I have even been to or even seen. No detail was left undone. It was perfectly beautiful in every way and I am so excited for Mimi and her new husband!!!

My dear friend Miranda and her mother have started make the most ADORABLE pot holders. You know I cannot say no to a good shift dress and this one is more than just cute, it is useful too! Again, these would be a great graduation gift for those about to enter "the real world" as they will start to cook on their own.

My new coral jeans! I paired these lovlies with turquoise for an extra pop. I also paired these with my red elephant Elizabeth McKay blouse the other day and it was a hit as well!
