This past Spring I did a cleanse and then a few weeks of "clean eating" (I wish I could say I was still 90% eating clean but Sprinkles Ice Cream and Halloween candy are just too good). The first few days of cleansing were hard as I was used to kind of just eating whatever I was craving or what looked delicious on a menu. Obviously, that did not really work on a cleanse. So, I spent some time researching recipes and found a handful I loved and found incredibly easy to make. One of the recipes I found was a frozen shrimp recipe with various spices. I was not crazy about some of the ingredients it called for but I am crazy about taco seasoning so I substituted that and voila!
Taco Shrimp is a 10 to 15 minute meal. I am not much of a seafood person but I CRAVE this meal. It is so tasty and a good crowd pleaser. It is a staple on my cooking-at-home menu and since I am cleansing again starting tomorrow I think I will be eating lots of it over the next ten days. If you like healthy and easy Taco Shrimp might soon be a favorite of yours too.
What you need:
1 bag frozen no-tail shrimp (I used large shrimp)
1.5 tablespoon Taco Seasoning
Saute shrimp in olive oil over medium heat for five minutes. Add in taco seasoning and cook another three minutes. Enjoy solo, with rice or over salad.
