Women's 2012 Touch Dinner

Last night was the Women's Touch Dinner at church. It was such a fabulous event! The tables were all just splendid, as you will see below, the food was just delicious and the message was so inspirational. To say I LOVE my church would be an understatement. I have met so many amazing people through PCBC and have been able to spend my time helping through our Acts 1:8 program. I truly feel blessed to have found such a wonderful church home in Dallas.
As I mentioned yesterday, women of the church can sign up to decorate tables at the annual Women's Touch Dinner. I met my friend Molly through the Fall Women's Bible Study and we signed up to decorate and host a table together last night. You can pick your theme and then go to town decorating. I loved that there were so many different tables and all ages of women were represented at this event. I think that is so important in a church as believers come from all walks of life, every nationality and all ages. Below are a handful of tables I was able to snap photos of as well as the full reveal of the table Molly and I decorated and hosted. Enjoy, but be warned this might be a photo overload for some of you!

I am not sure if Baylor is a big deal where you live, but here in Dallas and at PCBC there are too many Baylor Bears to count!

I wish I had gotten a better view of these containers at this pink and blue table. They were all blue and white ginger jars which I loved!

This table was a "Williamsburg Thanksgiving". I loved the traditional centerpiece!

I loved the colors at this table. It was so serene and reminded me of the beach.

More relaxing colors and mercury glass.

This movie themed table was so cute. I think I would have been eating all those treats had this been my table!

There were quite a few Thanksgiving/Fall and Christmas themed tables. This one stood out as it had such a stunning centerpiece.

Just like Baylor, MacKenzie-Childs is BIG up in this city and state too.

I loved the small paintings at each place setting and the antique china too.

I love birds when it comes to decor so this table was right up my alley. Each chair had a green or silver glitter nest adornment tied on to it. So fun!

Here is our "Perfectly Pink and Green" table the night we decorated it.

Molly made the lovely centerpieces and candles while I did the linens, serving utensils and printables.

We had looked through pictures from past years and were a tad nervous. As you can see all the other tables were simply phenomenal, but once we got ours put together we were quite thrilled with the outcome!

The monogram chair backers were a hit! Numerous attendees commented on them which made Molly and I smile. Each of our friends took theirs home as part of their favor.

They also got to take home the pink and green leopard water goblets I painted. If you ever need to spice up a table just grab some glasses and paint them with a leopard print. It is a fail safe pattern and can be done in any color combination. I used Martha Stewart any-surface paint and then baked the glasses for 20 minutes after I let them air dry for a bit. I added coordinating ribbon for the finishing touch. Easy and beautiful!

I purchased eight pink and green chargers from Target a few years back and have been waiting to use them. However, when I realized we had to decorate a table for ten I started to panic. Of course, these had been an item from a special Target collection and there was nothing comparable online, not even eBay.

I happened to remember the wonderful Miss Janice had a similar charger. I decided to reach out to her to see if she would be willing to save the day. Thankfully she came to the rescue so we were able to complete our table. Thank you Miss Janice!!

The last part of our favors were the pink and green Bible verse printables that I made last year, monogram stickers to match the chair backers and a pink candy bar from Dylan's. We placed these at the top of each place setting to finalize the look. Our table was nice and full (not too full though) by the end which really completed the look.

I have to say that I thought the table looked even better last night once the candles were lit and the lighting in the Great Hall was adjusted. It ended up being the only pink table out of 45 so we stood out which was quite fun.

Molly and I had such a wonderful time putting everything together and enjoyed the fellowship with our friends last night. We hope all our guests feel as blessed as we did. Now....on to thinking of a theme for next year!

WOW!! the charger thing would have been my luck too! I've had that happen at the holidays. Especially with napkins and such. My Mom always comes up with a way to improvise.
As for the tables. WOW..WOW..WOW!! They had some GREAT ones. Aside from yours, I think I like the Thanksgiving one the best followed by the one with the little paintings.

This event sounds like so much fun. I participated in many of these back in Mississippi, but sad to say there aren't many events like this in my Florida town. Boo hoo. You and Molly did a fabulous job!

I love your table, and I'm extremely impressed with your glass painting! I love Mackenzie Childs, she isn't as popular in my state--but she is definitely a favorite :)

Wow- how fun!! I love everything and your table is delicious!! Was this a fundraiser?

That's so funny to me that M Childs is a big deal in TX. I've been collecting it since I was in high school but it's funny to be because it's an Upstate NY company.

The creativity that goes into events like this is amazing. I am planning two tablescapes for our Christmas Brunch & Bazaar at my church in two weeks. I always do a pink and green table, and this year, I am also doing a red and turquoise table with peppermint print dishes. Can't wait to put it all together and see the finished product.

What another beautiful event. I love y'alls table, as well as the beach-y one you pointed out, and the Williamsburg Thanksgiving one is probably my favorite. I clearly am a Virginia girl!
