My goodness, have I ever dropped the ball on blogging these past few weeks! Truth be told, I have not even thought twice about it. I really have LOVED blogging, but 4.5 years is a really long time for anything. It is not that I am bored of blogging or ready for a new hobby but it is just no longer my priority. With that being said, I know lots of bloggers talk about not living their lives through their blogs. I feel like it is really easy to get caught up in blogging. When I stepped back this Summer I was reminded of how many other things I have going on in my life. As much as I would like to juggle them all I just no longer have the energy. I do not want to look back in ten years and think about how my whole life revolved around this (though it is so, so fun and rewarding). Of course that might be the path some bloggers choose and it will work wonders for them, constant blogging is no longer my path. While the perks have been fun my real life experiences, adventures and relationships (many with friends I have met via social media) now outweigh the daily posts. Plus, I also feel that Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are so much easier to do on a whim and take far less thought and time (blog posts can take ages to write sometimes).
So, what does this mean? It does not mean I am going to close shop it just means I am scaling way back. The daily (and sometimes twice daily- where did I find the time?) posts are indeed a thing of the past and bi-weekly posts will be the new thing. I plan to continue to share my finds, creations, event recaps, movie reviews, travel snapshots, giveaways etc. None of the content will change, again, it will just be less frequent. I do not expect any of you to keep reading (I have no idea who is even still around?), but I wanted to fill you in and keep you in the loop.
As always, thank you for all your support. It has certainly been a marvelous ride and I anticipate the next adventure will be just as wonderful! I keep thinking that less content means I can make it even better...only time shall tell! Oh, and in the meantime I might just have to play around and make a new header to go with this new phase.

Blog or do not blog. Why do you feel like you have to explain this in essay form. Your blog is a great read but I wish we could go back to the classy taste of the past and not tweet or blog our every thought. I follow these blogs like a "reality show" or "Jerry Sprgr" but I would never participate. It is fun to watch the circus and smile. At almost 30you should blog less because your life is evolving and growing. I hope into a new chapter not stuck still...where high school girls think you are cool.
Thank you for the update! I think it's a great idea. Post when you have time and about something you really care about. But don't feel pressured to choose the blog over real life. This should really be how all blogs function. But don't doubt, we'll be here excited to hear from you!
Glad you're not abandoning blogging entirely! Totally understand about wanting to scale back.
Still here and waiting to read - whenever you find yourself back for a bit. XOXO
Hopsy you have always been my favorite. No matter what you decide I will still read you and love hearing all of your adventures. Love you sweetheart xo
I agree with the first poster. While I quite enjoy your blog it's no big deal if you aren't posting everyday. These explanation posts are tiresome, like you think we are hanging on your every word and will cry if we don't get a daily post. Best of luck to you, I will read your posts at whatever frequency works for you
I still read. And if blogging once in a while feels natural, then that's what you need to do. It's a hobby, not a lifestyle. I'll just catch you on FB or Twitter instead. :)

I'm still here! I love reading your blog, but life is short. Do what works for you! :) xoxo
This is such an understandable decision! Blogging is time-consuming and I think there are seasons to be frequently engaged and others to step back either entirely or in part. I'm glad we'll still be hearing from you, though! :]
PS. I saw somewhere - maybe on your about page? - that you lived in Honduras when you were younger. I'm actually half-Honduran! My family lives in and around San Pedro Sula. Where did you live when you were there?
Hopsy,
I understand post do take more time than most people realize, and I do love it, but WOW is Instagram FUN and easy (I follow you). Do what you can, when you can, about what you love. You are adorable.

I totally know where you are coming from and have questioned how much time I want to continue to devote to blogging when years down the road I may look back and wish I had done things differently. Good for you for deciding what is right for you now (and for letting us in on what you are thinking, regardless of what those rude commenters said!) Cheers!
You need to do what works for you and enjoy your life! I think it is fabulous that you are doing that! And, yes, IG and Twitter make it easy to stay in "touch" an follow along! Cheers to you! xo
We always love reading your blog when you have time and feel like blogging! You're one of my favorites! :)
Hopsy... I am so happy that your life is evolving! I hope it is full of romance and a challenging, rewarding career. You have been so kind to me and I will always look forward to your posts. All the best...because you deserve it!
Oh I totally know where you are coming from!!! I have scaled back to bi-weekly posts and it is so much better. I also have the HUGE problem that my blog is centered around my love for kate spade and I am finding that I don't totally "love" kate spade anymore! uh oh! What's a girl to do about that??? I am just hoping that it is a phase and I can get excited again. So I am not making any sudden moves. lol

Hopsy,
Enjoy the life that God has blessed you to live.If that means blogging is no longer in the picture than so be it.
This gal will check in from time to time and take a quick peek to see if you have shared anything new.
Wishing you the very best!

You are in my reader so I see all your posts. I have been an absent blogger for many months - well nearly two years. As you know I love your tips and tricks! XO JDM
Good decision. I am often amazed at how much time some people put into their blogs and cannot imagine just much time it takes away from other things. I blog, but do not try to blog everyday or even have a schedule. I use it as my scrapbook for my family and it has replaced my older hobby of scrapbooking and documenting my family. When something becomes too much work, it is no longer fun. I would guess you probably reached that point. As someone older than you, I would encourage you to keep blogging and documenting some of the things in your life because when you get older you will want to look back at it. You probably won't be interested in looking back at "Target finds", 'restaurant reviews' and so on, but will really appreciate the other things.
I'm also glad you are going to keep blogging. I really enjoy your blog. I can completely relate, I too had to cut back and couldn't find a balance to post now and then. I will happily check in for posts!
All the best.
Love to read your blog no matter how often you are able to. Thanks for all that you share :)
I always love reading your blog posts! Since I stopped blogging (other than for my classroom and about teacher stuff), I have stopped reading many blogs as well...but yours is not one of them! I always look forward to your new posts! :)
Happy to see that you are back. Even if it's in a limited form! :)
