Lusting Over

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. Mine was just perfect as I enjoyed time with friends as well as some down time. I read, saw a movie, volunteered, cleaned, taught Sunday School and went to a social for my block. It was wonderful! I have a handful of things I have wanted to share with you all, but rather than drag it out with individual posts I figured to make things extra special and include everything in this post. Enjoy!
The Doughmestic Housewife Cookies (prices start at $1.50 a cookie.)
I discovered Holly through The Francis Family blog and have already placed three orders through her. While darling SO many custom cookies are also super $$$. Holly has such a talent and designs the most darling cookies for the right price. She can do just about anything and is as sweet as can be too!

I posted a photo wearing this dress in coral on my Facebook page Saturday. It reminds me of a $400 Milly or Trina dress...but yes, it is ONLY $35. I snatched it up in coral and white and just adore it! For those that might be interested I want to make it known that it runs small. Well, I should not really say small, but rather is true to size and not "modern American sizing." I wear a 2/4 in most dresses (as long as they are not fitted in the hips that is!) but I bought this in a 6 and it fits perfectly. I wore it to church yesterday in the coral and got countless compliments proving that JCP has done it again for me!

After the advice of Facebook "fans," Twitter friends and my mother I decided I simply must start reading Rebecca. I cannot believe I have not read this until now. It is a real thriller and so mysterious. I love it!
"Rebecca is a novel of mystery and passion, a dark psychological tale of secrets and betrayal, dead loves and an estate called Manderley that is as much a presence as the humans who inhabit it: "when the leaves rustle, they sound very much like the stealthy movement of a woman in evening dress, and when they shiver suddenly and fall, and scatter away along the ground, they might be the pitter, patter of a woman's hurrying footsteps, and the mark in the gravel the imprint of a high-heeled satin shoe." Manderley is filled with memories of the elegant and flamboyant Rebecca, the first Mrs. DeWinter; with the obsessive love of her housekeeper, Mrs. Danvers, who observes the young, timid second Mrs. DeWinter with sullen hostility; and with the oppressive silences of a secretive husband, Maxim. Rebecca may be physically dead, but she is a force to contend with, and the housekeeper's evil matches that of her former mistress as a purveyor of the emotional horror thrust on the innocent Mrs. DeWinter. The tension builds as the new Mrs. DeWinter slowly grows and asserts herself, surviving the wicked deceptions of Mrs. Danvers and the silent deceits of her husband, to emerge triumphant in the midst of a surprise ending that leaves the reader with a sense of haunting justice."

Bellevue Collection Zebra Bracelet (Auction prices vary, but this went for $14)
The Bellevue Collection is a new Facebook auction page. They are all about preppy and fun accessories like the bangle seen above. I simply adore this whimsical piece and cannot wait to see what tonight's auction will feature!
Ivanka Trump Annulio Patent Pointy-Toe Flat in chartreuse ($150)
I first spotted the Ivanka Trump shoe line last Summer at Dillard's. The sandals were what caught my eye, but these year I have my eye on the above flats. They would go perfectly with all my vibrant frocks.

Elizabeth McKay Contest
My beloved Elizabeth McKay is holding an AMAZING photo contest. The top prize is a $2500 gift card! I submitted a photo and would LOVE your votes, but you should also consider entering your own photo. The winner will have a new wardrobe come May!

Speaking of contests, Bridier Baubles is hosting one as well! You can name a new necklace on their Facebook page. Submit you name idea and then get your friends to like your comment. The comment with the most likes will win and the winner will also get a necklace! Bridier Baubles just added a bunch of new items that you are sure to love.

I LOVE your JCP dress; I agree it looks like some other big name brands out there. I but coral looks AMAZING! And Rebecca...MY FAV book. It was a required reading in my junior year high school English class. I wish ALL required reading was as good! That was a PLEASURE to read as a student! Oh, and thanks for the cookie decorator recommendation...always handy to have someone!

I love that dress! I remember reading Rebecca in high school and think it's still on my bookshelf. I'll have to look tonight so I can reread it!

Rebecca is a great book! If you like that genre (supernatural thriller/ ghost/ classic literature with a cliffhanger ending), I'd recommend Susan White's The Woman in Black (yes, like the movie that just came out with Daniel Radcliffe), Patrick McGrath's Spider and Ronlyn Domingue's The Mercy of Thin Air. Happy Reading! :)

Rebecca is my favourite book- I hop you watch the movie- Rebecca's room and wardrobe and embroidered linen are all stunning. Mrs Danvers is the fictitious housekeeper of my blog.
