The Lucky One

Last night I felt like the lucky one when I was sitting in the theater before a screening of the movie, The Lucky One. We read the Nicholas Sparks book in book club this March so I knew the plot line and and really enjoyed the story. I have to admit I was possibly a tad more excited about seeing Zac Efron play Logan than the movie plot following the exact plot of the book... That was certainly a plus because the movie did steer from the book (as does pretty much every movie based on a book). However, the overall gist was the same, but if you read the book you might be slightly disappointed in how many of the really big details DO differ. With that being said I still LOVED the movie! Blythe Danner was fabulous, Riley Stewart was a perfect Ben and Zac Efron was almost too much. I had the same feelings towards all the onscreen characters as I did for the book characters (I did find Beth to be slightly annoying in the movie though) which I think makes for an overall win. Also, I want to say how the movie honors our servicemen. It paints them in such a positive light and shows how strong the comradery is among them all regardless of their squadron.
The movie was fabulous and the theater was cheering, booing and laughing throughout the entire screening. If you even somewhat into romantic comedies The Lucky One is a must see in my opinion!
Did you read The Lucky One or do you plan to see the movie this week?

I haven't seen the movie yet but I'm definitely looking forward to it! When did Zac Efron get so grown up (and good looking)?!

I am not sure if I will see this movie. I might wait to watch it when it goes to DirecTV - that might be more likely. I am glad to hear it followed the book and really, all things considered does Blythe Danner ever choose a bad script?

I loved the book, as I do all by Sparks, but I haven't been sure about seeing the movie. You've made me consider it a little bit more. It might be one of those that I wait until it comes out on DVD. COme check out my Kate Spade giveaway!
