Friday Five

1. Paper Source Mother's Day Cards
Paper Source has the best selection of Mother's Day cards I have come across. The above was my favorite for obvious reasons.
2. Winston
Bulldogs are SO sweet and funny! Winston is like a big baby. He LOVES to get on this chair in the kitchen (please note that the Curious George cover is his bed) but is a bit lazy so stands looking up at it until you pick up him.

Once you try this there is NO looking back. This vanilla sugar literally transforms recipes and they go from amazing to magnificent with just a dash.
"Vanilla Sugar is an old-fashioned mix of real Vanilla Beans aged in pure sugar, that was used in the old days before Vanilla Extract came along. We've been blending and using Vanilla Sugar in our coffee for a long time, and it tastes great. Vanilla Sugar can be used in baking and candy-making, and is particularly nice where the flavor of the vanilla bean should shine through, such as in ice-cream. Vanilla sugar is also the perfect sprinkle for coffee, hot chocolate and fresh fruit. Madagascar and Indonesian Vanilla Beans chopped very fine, mixed and aged with Granulated White Sugar."

4. Princess Diana and THE Wedding Dress
I was SO thrilled when Grosgrain Garage texted me this winter to tell me the Diana exhibit was heading to none other than the Minnesota's Mall of America, also known as MoA. My mother and I are lovers of all things British and made our way to MoA on Monday morning (it was only my second trip in five years!). The exhibit was just phenomenal. We loved all the childhood items and videos and charity work details as well as various outfits Diana wore. However, her wedding dress was the real show stopper. Neither of us had any idea it cost the equivalent of just $1900 to make at the time (I thought it was far more). The exhibit was a very fitting tribute to the "people's princess" and I HIGHLY encourage those of you in MN or in surrounding states to try and make your way to MoA before June.
5. Lilly Pulitzer Eryn Dress in Lilly's Pink Lilet
Well, my dress comes NOwhere near comparing to any of those from the above exhibit, but I must admit I was thrilled to score it from a recent RueLaLa sale. I had been eyeing it for almost a year and never bite the bullet in purchasing it until last week. I am so thrilled I did as it is sure to be a new Spring staple.
PS- I used to think it was SO odd when people took outfit photos of themselves, but I know fall into that category. Blogging has changed me I guess... Do any other bloggers/Tweeps feel the same?
Have a lovely weekend!!!

Wandering through the V&A while in London several years ago, I stumbled across an exhibit that included the Princess of Wales's white beaded gown. It was a highlight of my trip!

It's so funny that you mention feeling weird about taking pictures of your outfits; I'm about to buy a full length mirror just for that exact purpose! I just need to get cute outfits like you and I'll be set! haha

Love the Mother's day cards! Also to save a few pennies (which we are all trying to do, I know), you can make your own vanilla sugar by adding vanilla bean pods to bowls of sugar and letting them stand. There are instructions on marthastewart.com...I may or may not have written them myself :)

Love that card-- perhaps our mummies will get the same card this year? Love the Eryn-- looks fab on you! Taking photos of yourself is always going to be so awkward-- you do it with grace, my dear!

Xx,
Muffy

Aww how heavy is Winston? He looks like a big old boy now. You guys pick him up still? I cannot pick up my puppy dog. Actually, I guess I could pick Lily up but I just don't do it! :)

The dress really is sweet on you. I loved that pattern and almost got one of the dresses it was in last summer at Bloomingdales and resisted. Maybe I will be lucky and it will pop up NWT on eBay at some point?

I think if I get an iPhone I will start doing outfit pictures. It is super awkward with a Blackberry!!
