Even though I had a horrible customer service experience at Kate Spade last Fall I will admit they have some beautiful designs and fabulous products. While I would never buy their lipstick again (or any item directly from them for that matter) their clothing line is classic as well as chic.
However, the upscale looks DO have prices to match so imagine my excitement when I was browsing the JCP website on Friday and came across a dress incredibly similar to a Kate Spade dress I am constantly eyeing:
Now, the very BEST part of this find was the price difference. The JCP version was not 50% less, not even 75% less. The Bow Front Bridesmaid dress in red is NINETY FIVE percent less, yes you read that correctly, 95%!!! At $20 this red dress has a similar bow, back and all over cut. The only real difference I noticed is the color, fabric and then the neck has a slightly deeper scoop. The dress is available in a few other colors as well for $50 ( still a steal in my opinion). I think everyone I emailed this beauty to ordered it so once it comes in I will be sure to provide a short review in a "Friday Five" post.

I know they have had a bad reputation in the past and I will be the first to admit to you I had only stepped foot in a store one time until October. However, I have found so many GREAT items here in our new store (which is apparently a demo/model store) which is nicer than Macy's and Dillard's. Plus, their costumer service is right up their with Neimans and Nordstroms and their return policy it is just amazing. If you have a store near you, order your items online and then have them shipped to the store for FREE! JCP is quickly becoming my new Lilly; tee hee :)

Oh my gosh, I've been eyeing that Kate Spade dress for forever! That JCPenny dress is a great find, thank you for sharing!
Add me to the list that snapped it up! Can't wait to pick it up!
What a great find! I almost like the JCP option more!

Last summer I bought two dresses at JC Pennys for less than thirty dollars a piece. They were actually my favorites after exhausting my options at other stores. Even though the quality isn't forever, I don't think I really want to wear a dress over and over again but so much.
what what a good deal!
Wow, I love both! Who doesn't love a good deal?! Happy Monday! XO
That is an incredible deal and they looks identical!

Wow...so cute:)
I just tried to order it but they are sold out of small sizes:(
I just ordered one. Thank you so much!! You always have find the greatest things!
Well, I found this dress at Ross!!! It was a petite so, much shorter than the kate spade version but really cute anyway! Forever 21 had this same style in a black and white polka dot but also quite short.
I love to get the look for less!

I LOVE this! I absolutely adore finding 'steal' versions of my favorite splurges!
This really is a look for less! it's almost the same dress, and I actually like the deeper scoop on the neckline. Perfect for pearls!
Starting February 1, JCP is instituting 40% permanent price discounts. They have a new CEO who is revamping the brand.
Love love it! You are so awesome at finding the best treats at JCP!

Ha!! I had a horrible Kate Spade customer service experience as well involving a VERY expensive dress. I have been boycotting them ever since, but I do still covet their designs. I thought it was just me. I can't wait to see what you think of the JCP dress. One of my best friends is a buyer for JCP. She'll be tickled to know she's in the category of Lilly!!!!!
That dress is fantastic- thank you for the heads up!
I believe JCP owns Kate Spade (along with a variety of other brands like Lucky, Liz Claiborne, etc). I would not be surprised to see other style replicas between the brands.
Absolutely lovely dress - thank you for this post!
a JCP catalogue came in the mail just the other day. I could not believe it as I was looking through it. It looked right up there with J Crew as far as their crops and cardigans. I have not been in a JCP in a long long time either. I am so interested if this new look for them pans out in stores as it does in print.
