An 11.11.11 THANK YOU!

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain;
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood,
From sea to shining sea.

Oh beautiful
for HEROS proved
In liberating strife
Who more than self
their country loved
and mercy
more than life
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine.

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self control,
Thy liberty in law.

Thank you to all those who have served our country! You make America the greatest country in the world. You are normal men and women who are willing to sacrifice your life for your neighbor. You are selfless, you are strong, you are patriotic, you are honorable, you are dedicated, you are our HEROS!

Also, thank you to the families who have stood behind and supported all the men and women in uniform.

We will never be able to properly thank all those who have gone before us and served or those who continue to give to this country, but we can say thank you to them as well as those who stand behind them!

Today, remember to thank a hero!!! Today I want to thank:

Preppy Girl Meets World and her husband, TLS

Lisa Musgrove, a dear reader and friend whose children all serve.

Kat of Legging's Are Not Pants boy friend, Travis Smith, serves.

The Shepard Family
Carolyn Johnson, a reader whose brother is a Marine.
Amy, reader and wife to a USAF Officer.

Courtney Grill, reader and daughter of USAF dentist

Simply Sarah, her brother is currently serving.

Hopsy, what a sweet gesture on your part to remember my children today. My daughter just returned from being at sea and is preparing to leave again for a month. Hopefully, she'll be home for Christmas and then she'll be gone again for the majority of 2012 at sea. Keep the good thoughts/prayers coming for ALL of our troops for their safe return home.

What a great post, thank you for your thoughts this veterans day. My husband is currently serving overseas, he is a pilot in the Army. He too would have appreciated your kind words.
