I have been busy exploring samples. Not sample sales or food samples at Costco, but paint samples!
I found the perfect pale pink for my bedroom (Behr "Be Mine") and a delightful hot pink that will look DIVINE with blue and white plates hung on it for the kitchen (Behr "Tutti Frutti"), but the living/dining room is another story...
Blues are so much harder than pinks. While I want to walls to coordinate with some furniture I already have, blues can be very finicky and look totally wrong when the light hits them and of course the size of the room is another factor too. Tomorrow I am off to Sherwin Williams to check out recommended shades of blue and hopefully I will have made my decision come Monday. Stay tuned for before and after shots of the rooms. I certainly have my work cut out for me when it comes to decorating :) In the mean time I will just keep my favorite song of the moment on repeat:Billy Currington's "Love, Done, Gone"

LOVE that you're going with pink in your kitchen- it doesn't get much more fabulous than that!
Have a wonderful weekend!

The blue and white geometric pattern is simply divine. May I ask the name of the manufacturer and pattern?
Lovely choices. I am partial to blues as they are so soothing. What has inspired all of this decorating?
I almost got "Be Mine" in my new bedroom, but we ended up going with Benjamin Moore paints for the whole house, so I got "Marshmallow Bunny," which is very similar! I can't wait to see how things turn out!
My last kitchen was blue and I have also painted a bedroom blue so I know how difficult. I would highly recommend Benjamin Moore paint. Also House Beautiful has a book called Colors for Your Home which I never get tired of using as a resource. Good luck!
I can't wait to see how your rooms turn out!! Interior decorating is always a favorite a subject of mine!

I also find blue a difficult pick. The first shade I selected didn't look anything like the color chart and had to be redone. My father swears by Benjamin Moore paint.
Love those blues! And the fabric that's behind those paint samples :)
I love my blue room! I used Benjamin Moore and the color really doesnt make the space feel any smaller :)
i used a mix of behr, benjamin moore and farrow and ball paints. farrow and ball has a gorgeous pink called "pink ground" that i LOVE.
the behr was the worst of the 2. the f&b and bm aura paints went on easier, dried faster and has much less of the horrible paint smell. they both have low or zero VOCs, which is important if you are painting yourself.
have fun!
How very exciting!!!!
it's a beautiful song! and love the pinks
Love the pinks you selected! I also love blue in a room, so good luck with that!
Let us know how it works out the blue! I am looking for some shades of blue paint for my room :)
How exciting to undergo such a big project! I struggle to pick paint colors too, but I'm sure you'll find your just right shade.
So exciting! Can't wait to see photos! What is the fabric called in the photo with the blue paint samples? I must know, thanks!
Sorry to report I have no information on the greek key fabric. It was purchased through a friend and is a vintage and has no markings.
Totally agree that blue is quite difficult. We went with Tiffany Blue in our dining room with the white accents on the chair rail, etc. and I love it most of the year - until Christmas when the red and green just don't work - we end up ith a lot of silver and gold in that room instead!!
