Movies

I have been on a movie roll recently. I feel like I have been going to so many screenings, but I love movies so it is the perfect hobby for me! This week I went to a more intimate screening for a movie that was shot here in Dallas. Brotherhood is a smaller film in the grand scheme of things (I love independent films!) and I have to say it was quite suspenseful. There were times I wanted to jump through the screen and shake one of the main characters. Minus the language this was a very interesting film with an intriguing plot. A major bonus for me was that Sam from American Dreams (many of you have read about my AD obsession over the past three years) is in the film!

Erin over at Let the Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore tagged me to share five of my favorite movies as her Netflix list is running low. However, since she has likely seen most of my very favorite flicks I have chosen to simply include five movies that I have either watched recently or that I have been thinking about renting and watching again...because they are just that good!

Father of the Bride

A oldie but always a goody!! Both one and two will always be at the top of my list I think.

Secretariat
I have written about this film before, but I just purchased it and can hardly wait to watch it again!
Who is Clark Rockefeller
I saw this movie on Lifetime when it premiered and it is hands down the best made-for-TV that I have ever seen. SO suspenseful!
Devil's Playground
After reading Tale of a GRITS yesterday I was reminded of this documentary on Amish teenagers. It is so interesting and I learned so much I never knew about their culture.
Well, Alias is not a movie, but every season is available on DVD (unlike America Dreams...SAD). If you are ever running low I highly suggest getting started on this series. It is like a female version of 24...think fashion and romance mixed with espionage!
What are five of your favorite flicks or five movies on your mind??

Father of the Bride is TO DIE! I own both and watch them all of the time, although not since I've been engaged, there would be too many tears!

Thanks Hopsy for playing along! "Father of the Bride" is a classic...FRANCK is the absolute best! I saw "Secretariat" in the theater and loved it. I think we all can get swept away by a good Lifetime movie...now this one is on my list! I know JCW would be very interested in “Devil’s Playground” even the cover looks intriguing. Have a lovely weekend my dear! xx

After watching the incredible Julian Fellowes miniseries Downton Abbey, I added Gosford Park to our instant queue (and bought his novel Past Imperfect)!

My suggestions are a little more "on the edge," by I think anyone who is an art lover should see "Exit Through the Gift Shop."

I love Father of the Bride too. Kimberly Williams Paisley was even in my Kindermusik class with her son Jasper. It was so fun to see her. She is gorgeous and a really fantastic mom.

Brotherhood looks very interesting... American Dreams was one of my fave shows of all time... one they took off the air way too soon! I feel the same about Friday Night Lights : (

Excellent choices! I need to add Secretariat to my Netflix Queue, too. And as for Brotherhood, I am looking forward to seeing it, particularly since you mentioned that Sam from American Dreams is in it. You're not the only one who's a little obsessed with American Dreams!

OMG. Several of these are at the top of my list too! And I just blogged about Secretariat on Thursday! Anyone who knows me knows I have a sad obsession with FOTB and will watch it over and over over (sometimes 3 times in the same night) and no less than twice a week - I know...crazy right? But it's my all time fave movie!
I'm so so so curious about the documentary you posted. I think I'm going to have to add it to our netflix queue...looks rather interesting.
Don't you just miss Alias? I miss that show. Almost as much as I miss S&tC and LOST. *sigh*

Hope you have an amazing weekend!
