Zodiac

Ever since I moved to Dallas I have been dying to try the famed holiday lunch buffet at the flagship Neiman Marcus Zodiac room. Well, it only took me three years to check this off my list and it was most certainly worth the wait!
Typically, I am not the biggest fan of buffets (something about the food sitting out and the all-you-can-eat aspect), but anything NM tends to do is done to the nines so of course I made an exception. The lunch started with NM's famous popovers with strawberry butter and then a demitasse cup of consumee. After chatting and enjoying these for a bit it was onto the salads. We all decided to do one plate of salads and starters and then go back for the entree- there just was not enough room on the plates! Everything was DELICIOUS, but the three cheese mac and cheese and goat cheese and pear stuffed pasta topped my list.
I had so much fun at the buffet that by the time dessert rolled around I was stuffed. Everything looked wonderful though! We also did a fun ornament exchange at lunch, but I was rather bad at capturing with photos. Such a wonderful lunch, spent with wonderful people. I feel so blessed to have so many dear friends to celebrate this joyous season with!

I keep hearing about NM's famous popovers, I really wish the NM in Boston had a restaurant!

My friend and I had lunch at our local zodiac Room here in cold snowy Chicagoland. I, of course, dressed to the nines...and the rest of the people in the dining room were wearing jeans! Where is the "good taste" and Ladies who Lunch here in Chicago? The Creme Brulee dessert was to die for!

Love..love the popovers! If you ever get to SF check out NM Rotunda restaurant. It's popular so you'll have to make a reservation!
