As many of you know my birthday is in February so my birthstone is an amethyst. Well, I have to admit I have never really been a big fan of the color purple, with the exception of a short lived stint in 6th grade. However, traveling to India somewhat changed my opinion of this jewel tone. Purple can be found throughout the country in many forms; think not just clothing, but sunglasses, saris, storage containers, ribbon, buildings, you name it. Purple is actually a stunning color and even prettier when it comes in the form of large gemstones!

As part of my birthday gift this past year my parents gave me a lovely pair of amethyst and pearl earrings with a matching bracelet. To top it off they spoiled me with this stunning necklace:
It is beyond divine and I simply adore it!
While in India I thought it was only appropriate to add to my amethyst collection. So, I had the ring I am wearing above made. I have never been a ring person, but again this gem has changed my ways! I have been wearing the ring frequently over the past month and was thrilled to bring my other pieces back to Texas last night (mother had brought them back to the US). Purple is a great color for Fall and these jewels will most certainly get lots of love and use from me!

My birthday is a few days after yours if I remember correctly and I am the same way. Never liked purple. It's sort of growing on me but I still don't own any purple clothing.
I've never been a huge fan of purple either, but, Hopsy, those pieces are so lovely, you have changed my mind! Enjoy!
I love your new jewelry. So beautiful!! I know you will love it all. Love & blessings from NC!
Gorgeous! I love the combination of Amethyst and Pearl. I have to ask- is that the Jonah dress that you are wearing in your pictures?
very cute jewels!!
I've always been a fan of amethyst jewelry, but haven't worn much purple until recently (I just bought a purple handbag and purple wellies in London). Pink will always be my favorite, but I think purple is running a close second these days :)
So Pretty!
Gorgeous! My best friend just got back from Indiana last month and brought back so much gorgeous jewelry. I don't love purple in any other form (clothes particularly), but I absolutely love it in jewelry.
Gorgeous jewels, miss!

They are lovely!
I have not always loved amethysts either however this year I think they look great with all of the gray fall clothing.
Enjoy your beautiful jewels!
These are all simply stunning!. You wear this color very well, H!
....of course, if you ever feel like you've grown tired of wearing them, you always know where to find me! (;
You are to amethyst as I am to peridot. I am WAY too pale to wear purple but love how it looks with those pearls! Very fun.
I am a Feb baby too and I am coveting your beautiful square ring. Love it!
