Today was beyond fabulous! I got up long before the sun rose and headed out to DFW. I forgot how nice it was to walk through security with ONLY a purse and to not have to deal with checking luggage or unloading liquids. I need to think about this in the future when I am overpacking...
The birthday girl and father picked me up at MSP and we headed right over to pick up the food for lunch and then to Starbucks. Mother and I putting the finishing touches on the favors at Starbucks and then we were off to my grandmother's nursing home.
My mom's mother, Nana, has Alzheimer's and just recently moved to a wonderful nursing home. Since she is unable to leave and this very sadly might be one of the last family birthdays' she attended we wanted to have the party to where she was able to come.
We had such a fabulous time celebrating! All my male family members love blue, can you tell?
We topped off the celebration with cake of course! Wuollet is creme de la creme of bakeries in Minnesota. Their cakes are simply divine!
Mother went with red velvet on 10.10.10- her ever-so-unique birthday!
Delicious food, meaningful time spent with family and a celebration made today a perfect day!
After our celebratory lunch we left so Nana could rest and then spent the rest of the day with my cousins and grandfather. It was certainly a whirlwind of a day, but it could not have been any more fun or gone more smoothly. I am so blessed to have such a loving family that I am so close to and to be able to pop up to see them on short notice.

How special that you could pop up just for the day! Are your parents staying put in MN for good now? How fun that you will be able to see them more frequently now. Love your dress and pink tights too. I really need to pick up some fun colorful tights for fall.
That's wonderful :) I must ask, how does your mom get that amazing pouf with the headband? Does she tease first? and it's so smooth! marvelous
