This past weekend I hoped on a plane and headed up to Minnesota for the day to catch up with family and see my dad (he was in the US for the week)! Last minute trips can be stressful for many, but for some reason I find them to be thrilling and fun. Of course, this one was rather short so that did make it much easier!
This weekend was full of fun times with the family and of course LOTS of good food! I am not sure what it is, but whenever I am "on vacation" I feel the need to eat, eat, eat!
On Saturday evening we hit up one of my FAVORITE restaurants in Edina: The Convention Grill.
Since my dad does not get very much red meat in India we thought indulging in burgers was just what the doctor ordered!
When I went to the University of Minnesota I think we ate at The Convention Grill's sister restaurant on a monthly basis. I am a sucker for good malts paired with to.die.for fries and their Plaza Burger is unlike anything you have ever tasted.
I started out my meal with a delicious Oreo malt.

Here is it in all its' glory.... The Plaza Burger! Yes, that IS sour scream on the burger. I know it sounds odd, but it is literally one of the best things on the planet!

What a meal and of course it was even more divine as I was surrounded by my amazing family and 75 degree temperatures!

Yum! I love the convention grill! I went there a couple of months ago. Now I'm craving a malt!
That burger sounds delicious! I love a good malt and french fries too.
The prices at the Convention Grill are AMAZING! I haven't seen prices like that for years!

We love Convention as well. My favorite is the hot fudge and banana malt. Plaza burger is also a favorite! Glad you had a good trip, it was a gorgeous Minnie weekend!

My daughter is heading to North Central University in MN (as a freshman!!) in a couple of weeks. We'll have to check out this eatery :)
Ahh.. The Convention Grill... now I am homesick! ;-) Henry looks fantastic - you'd never know fro the picture the ordeal that he has been through.

How fun! One of my best friends from college lived in Minneapolis for several years and I think we went there when I visited her. I still remember liking the burgers. Yum!
