Chargers

Well, as you know I had never been into a JC Penney until a dear reader told me about the darling riding boots they had two years ago. I have since bought three pairs of boots and I admit I have fallen in love with numerous other items in the store (American Living is my favorite line!). Well, it seems that JC Penney has done it once again!
I love to entertain and setting tables is something I LOVE to do. I always have to give a table a personality and as a result I have far to many decorative items in the china cabinet. However, when you see something you know you love and that you KNOW you can use I just have a hard time resisting. The following chargers are fun, they can dress up any table and they are certainly a steal!
Four for $29.99
These would be divine at a more elegant dinner party. Think a candlelight dinner with loads of votives on the table of course and then lush arrangements of white peonies and ranunculas.
**Even though both these options are polyporpylene you can mix them with elegant china to create the right effect. Not to mention, it will be much easier to clear the first course without the weight of two heavy plates!**

Eight for $49.99
This is a wonderful, personalized option without a $300 price tag. Monogrammed china is lovely, but I know I would be one to tire of it after a while. However, at this price I know we can all indulge. These are also available in a peweter- I think either of these are great for a ladies' luncheon or a small dinner!
JC Penney also has a great rattan chargers! You get four round or square chargers for $29.99. I LOVE the rattan chargers I picked up at WalMart last year ($4.99 each!!!). Rattan can be mixed with just about anything and it is simply perfect with this time of year!
You do not need a huge budget to create an elegant fete. Pick something that goes well with your china and run with it. Worst case scenario you will have chargers left over and excuse to throw another party!

They're lovely. I think chargers really complete a table setting. I have some "gold" polypropylene chargers, and when they're set with nice plates, you don't notice they're cheap plastic. People always comment on how elegant they look.

Those are a great idea! My china has a platinum rim, and I've always thought silver chargers would look lovely with it.

I love chargers, have them in gold, bronze, rattan, silver. Love them! I like JCPenny too. Being from Kentucky, JCPenny was one of the few department stores we had growing up. I remember my first trip to Chicago, how I saved all my money just so I could buy something at Bloomie's to take back and show everyone! Now, it's a regular on my shopping trip! :-)

I know, how much fun!! I like JCP - I say you have to go with "filters" on your eyes, because there is so much merchandise, but there are some great finds at great prices.

I never knock good old JCP! I got my Pottery Barn replica office furniture for practically pennies from them! Excellent quality too.

Love them! Great find! I got silver ones as a gift for my old china, but these would be great with the new gold accented china!
