Pretty Trash!

Most of us consider trash to be an ugly thing. We are getting rid of things for a reason so clearly they cannot be pretty... until you read what Adrian Kondratowicz started doing in 2008 in New York City.
TRASH: anycoloryoulike is a vivid art intervention for urban beautification and environmental awareness. The project consists of select city blocks in which new artist-created trash bags transform standard piles of trash into vivid sculptures of color through the participation of local business owners and residents. The project was developed by artist Adrian Kondratowicz.

Bags are available in pink with white, black and gold polka dots and there is also a new white bag with gold polka dots. Bags can be purchased online (five for $10 or ten for $18).
I think these would be perfect for a party or for any sort of prank. If you are extra creative you would also use them for some sort of costume!

Now, if you are not a fan of the polka dots (gasp!), solid pink, heavy duty, trash bags are available on eBay (150 bags for $25). I cannot think of a better way to make the trash pick-up men and women smile!

Too cute! I want a pink trash can for the curb. The ugly dark green one doesn't make a statement.

Currently, Ale is doing trash duty --- I don't think he would take too well to PINK trash bags. But, if trash duty were mine, PINK they'd be!!!! Xoxo-BLC

Just a thought...these could also be used for those x-large, hard to wrap children's gifts.

Very clever! It would be fun to have a few of these to use as "picnic" trashbags for when you are in the park for a concert or for tailgating!

Love it!! That's what I call beautification for sure. In Seaside Beach, FL, I saw a dumpster painted pink to match the house that was being renovated. Love city codes like that. xoxo

Love it! The black ones are so ugly and boring. I can't believe it took us this long to come up with something else.

Hope you're doing well!
