I adore the TV show American Dreams. I just love, love, love it!
I think it is because it takes place in the 1960's which I find to be such a fascinating recent decade. The older Pryor daughter, Meg (I LOVED Meg, Beth and Patty!) dances on American Bandstand...I love all the clothing and the set! JJ Pryon, the family's oldest son, is a high school football star that goes on to enlist in the Marines. The American Dreams cast is amazing and they create the perfect family dynamics (which we can very easily relate to). Also, as an oldies fan you cannot beat the music! I loved listening to all the old songs and seeing present day celebrities "recreate" them!
It was a SAD day when I watched the series finale of American Dreams (I tried to save the show...yes, I was one of those lame people that signed a petition AND sent emails) and I would pay big bucks to see the alternate ending (I am obsessed!)! If you have never watched the show you had better run over to Netflix and order season one today, you will become hooked and never look back!

Looks like a really good show. Must have missed it when it aired a couple of years ago. Hilary Duff looks great with that hair! So 60's!
I loved that show too! Everytime I get obssessed with a show they cancel it! I'm having a giveaway on my blog for a Lilly picture frame! I would love for you to enter, it ends a 6pm tonight!

this used to be my absolutely favorite show!! i hate when my favorite shows get canceled (i.e. this one and lipstick jungle!)
I am glad to ahve a good recommendation, I'm running out of good TV! TOday, I did a 'tribute to the south' post and thought of you. I'm in CA now and people tell me the values are fading fast, but I see all you preppy's keeping it alive in life and blog land so have hope!!
I LOVE this show too! I was so bummed when it was cancelled. I have the theme song on my iPhone. Can't wait to see it on DVD.

I signed the petition too! The girl who played Patti is on that new show Parenthood that comes on NBC. She looks the same, only a little more grown up!
I used to love the show too. Though, here in Australia, it screened as 'My Generation'. It used to be on on saturday afternoons when I was at university.
I just ordered it from Netflix thank you! Do you remember the show "Homefront" with Kyle Chandler? Another great one cancelled way too early! Not on Netflix yet however..... have a great day!
How did I completely miss that this show was on television? Obviously they didn't promote it enough...it looks like it was right up my alley. SO fun!
