I grew up all over the South and in Central America. I spent my high school years at a boarding school in CT before heading off to college in VA. However, after a year I transfered to MN and pledged Kappa and graduated (a semester early!)with majors in Art History and Spanish. My life is simply amazing and I am SO incredibly blessed to have a loving family, marvelous friends and the best job in the world. I adore sweets, all things pink and green, a good movie, trying new restaurants and a great DIY project.
I am excited it will look wonderful on a coffee table with my GRITS guide to life and my "southern belle primer why princess margaret will never be a KKG"
Well I've always known I'm not a Prep (nor tried to be) even though I attended a private school (not a Prep school) and I'm Catholic too! not exactly OKD, but that's OK. (I did marry a man who lived in the right suburb according to TOPH). I've always embraced tradition in ALL its forms, and manners have always been at the core of my existence, thanks to parents/grandparents. These are things I have tried very hard to instill into my children. Manners do set you apart and in this day and age, it goes a long way!!! Once I learned that Lisa Birnbach was Jewish, the gloves came off - we're all welcome. Although I have to admit that my love of pink and green is more a "Sweet Potatoe's Queen" thing and not so much prep. (The SPQ's have a very tender place in my heart so it's VERY special) Also, years ago (and still today) my husband always compliments me when I wear pink so after all this time, it's the color I go to.
I'll probably buy the book as it does seem rather interesting.
