Sweet App!

I am going to a JLD gathering on Friday evening and am to bring an appetizer. However, seeing as everyone else is also bringing an appetizer it could be fun to mix it up and bring a backwards appetizer...like a chocolate chip ball!
1 pkg. (8oz.) Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup Butter, softened
1/4 tsp. Vanilla
2 Tbs. Brown Sugar
3/4 cup Confectioners Sugar
3/4 cup Mini Chocolate Chips
Chocolate or Chocolate Chip Graham Crackers

Combine cream cheese, butter, & vanilla until creamy. Add in sugars and mix until blended. Finally, stir in the best part, your chocolate chips! I would suggest placing this in the fridge for a bit before you form a ball (it was easier for me to work with). You can serve with graham crackers sticks, Teddy Grahams or Annie's Bunnies. It is just like chips and dip, but for the sweet tooth! Yum, yum, yum!

That is such a unique and great idea! Plus it seems like you would be able to add some color or different "mix-ins" depending on the holiday or time of year.

Yum! There's a similar recipe in my Junior League of Tallahassee cookbook, but I haven't tried it yet! I definitely need to :)

(Aren't Annie's bunnies the best? Love them!)

I have made this several times and it is yummy! I've also had a variation of it made the same way but then rolled in finely chopped pecans... Have fun at your get-together!

I was going to make this last week for a work potluck and went with a cheese one shaped like a pumpkin instead. I'm glad to hear it's good and I'll have to make it the next time!

A very similar dessert I always make (that comes in a kit) is the Turtle Cheesecake Cheeseball... by Resident Chef. It is divine and all you have to do is mix a bar of cream cheese with it! Goes great with animal/graham crackers!!!

Those are the best ever! We have a local church here in Alabama that sells various kinds of cheese balls at Christmas. This is one of their best sellers! Yummy!

I LOVE seeing this recipe used at a JL function! When I was Admissions Chair for the JLColumbia, I had this exact app for the Sponsor Orientation. I had forgotten all about it... thanks for whetting my appetite for it again!
