Spice Up Your Tree!

Making your tree pretty and fashionable (ok and preppy too) is just as easy (and as inexpensive) as can be!
Two years ago I had loads of extra grosgrain ribbon sitting around and just so happened to pop in to Michael's where boxes of ornaments were on sale. Suddenly, the perfect ornament idea came to me and I knew a delightfully decorated tree would result.
You will need boxes of your favorite ornaments:
I love the silvery pearl, fuchsia and lime, but red and green would work just as well if that is your theme!
Then you must pick out some of your favorite ribbons (mine are pink and green of course, but gold, green and red would again work here!):
I went with preppy polka dots
stripes
and more stripes!
Cut you ribbon about a foot long (if you are using small ornaments do note you will not want a very thick ribbon and you will not need it to be as long either), unless your ribbon is 1.5 inches or wider. If that is the case give yourself a bit extra ribbon since it is harder to get a good bow. Pull your cut pieces through the ornament holes and tie your perfect bow! Attach ornament hooks and hand away!
You will have the prettiest tree in neighborhood after just a few dollars and for under $50!

How adorable! And so practical...you can change the ribbons out if they get dirty of if you want to add a theme to your tree. Thanks for sharing!

This is such a sweet and good idea. I was thinking of our tree the other day and decided not to do a ribbon garland. Instead I can still use the adorable plaid ribbon in this way! Thanks for sharing!

I love this idea! I really think I might do a mini-tree this year... there's nothing quite like the smell of a real Christmas tree when you come home :)

Super cute! With all the ribbon I have, I could fill a bunch of trees. Maybe I should do a ribbon giveaway??? I just might!

I loved how your ornaments turned out from the photos last Christmas. I would definitely like to have a smaller tree for my bedroom and do this.

Super idea... I am putting a small tree in our dining room and was trying to figure out how two decorate without having to buy tons more ornaments. Hobby Lobby, here I come tonight!!!
