Omaha, finally!

I cannot believe I am JUST now getting around to posting my very first trip to Omaha, NE which I two weeks ago. L and I had quite the drive on both Friday and Sunday...it took ELEVEN hours. So much for wishful thinking and hoping we could do it in nine, even Mapquest was an hour under with their estimate. Such is life though and the wonderful Kappa and SAE fellowship at Allie and Tripp's wedding made the drive seem like nothing at all!
I wore the Saemus dress to the wedding and must say I am simply in LOVE! I really am not the biggest fan of formal dresses- yes, they are so pretty and look great, but comfort and the perfect fit always seem to be an issue for me. However, my Saemus is TO DIE FOR. It is sheer perfection. It wears so incredibly well, it is fun yet a bit dressier and I think it is quite flattering too. Omaha was the perfect place for the Seamus to make its' Hopsy debut!
L and I arrived in Omaha on Friday evening. We had dinner at a darling restaurant in Old Market (M Pub, had a fun, NYC type feel) and then met up with some KKG pledge sisters for about an hour afterwards. Since the wedding was not until 4pm on Saturday L and I headed back to the Old Market area for some browsing and shopping. I got a darling GOP elephant ornament at the Christmas Shop then we stumbled upon a FABULOUS iron shop!
They had the PREPPIEST outdoor accessories I had ever seen. Do you see the hot pink flamingo planter/bucket holder in the left of the photo? There was NO way I was leaving Omaha without it so I snapped up the last for just $47 and now have a permanent momento of the weekend. It is currently sitting in my apartment living area plant less, but I plan to add some Christmas lights and a Fall plant and then take another photo. You need to see Pinkie up close and in her element!

I loved the alligator and palm tree as well, however they were not nearly as easy to carry...nor were they pink! I think either would look just darling by a pool and as soon as I find the card from this amazing store I will post the information so you too can preppify your backyard or porch too!

Omaha was a wonderful city and I had such a fun time vi sting. However, next time I think I will be flying rather than taking the Kansas turnpike!

what a fab weekend Hopsy! I am all too familiar too with the kansas turnpike- we were on that darn thing just about every other weekend in the spring b/c the rowing teams in our league were all in kansas or omaha or texas. truly, how a MN team ends up in a league with teams in okc and dallas is beyond me!

love that saesmus dress! just gorgie and something that you can wear for the rest of your life!

Yay for KKG + SAE weddings! I'm a Kappa from Baylor and my husband was an SAE. (We just got married in May) I'll be going to two more E's and Keys weddings this year; and I just can't wait. I love the dress; you look darling in it!

I always stop by your blog, but rarely comment. I add leave a comment this time when I saw the front of one of my favorite stores, Nouvelle Eve. I was born and raised in Omaha and love the Old Market, so many cute shops and great restaurants. Unfortunately, I don't get there as I often as I would like since I live in Chicago now.

The Lilly dress looks adorable.
