A Foggy Day in London Town

Yesterday was another exciting day across the pond. The weather was not the best, but you cannot complain when you are in such a fabulous country. I spent the evening in London at the wonderful Berkeley hotel which I very much enjoyed. Of course I had to pop into Harrods again. I LOVE all the new tea boxes Harrods is doing. Are they fantastically fabulous and fun? It looks like a Lilly tea shop!
I spotted this trench dressed mannequin near the overcoats and had to get a photo for you all. I think this beats the double or even triple polo look, don't you?
When walking in to Harrods I had my first celebrity spotting in London this year. Jack Black was on his way out as I walked in! What fun! However, that was not the only celebrity encounter of the evening. After dinner at the Harrods pizza bar I went to see Sister Act. The London stage always has such a great line up and this show did not disappoint. In fact the show was so good that Pippa Middleton was also there (I thought of you Queen Bee!!). Now, I am sure Pippa would not be considered an exciting person to see by many of you, but considering I love royals and London socials I was thrilled we choose to see the same show on the same evening. Great mind think alike, right!?
After the show I watched The Secret Life of Bees before calling it a night and getting some beauty sleep. I got up and enjoyed waffles with clotted cream (YUM!) this morning and then popped in to the world famous bookstore Heywood Hill for mother. This shop is so quaint and offers a wonderful selection of books that are often only available in the UK. I picked up a book for mother and a D Day book with new research for father. I spotted these lovely flowers at the hotel and just had to take a photograph. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the arrangement. For years I have hoped to have something similar at my very far off wedding, but have never once seen just white hydrangeas and pink peonies alone together. It was a sign that I saw such a simple arrangement is such a lovely city! Okay, the weather has totally turned around and it is still as beautiful as can be. I am off to enjoy it while I can!!

I had a celebrity sighting at Harrods too! It was the roguishly cute Robbie Williams. Perfect to brighten up the foggy weather!

Oh, the peonies! How divine!

So glad you're having such a delightful time in London! I'm really enjoying your posts.

Have you ever eaten at Covent Garden Soup Co.? They have a lot of locations around London and it's just "take away," but their soups are delicious!

And Will's favorite restaurant in the whole world in Wagamama in London. You've probably been there before, but I thought I'd mention it.

Love, love, love the white hydrangea and pink peony arrangement! Help me remember to share that with Cebolla before my Valentine luncheon next year.

Cheers!

I stayed at the Berkeley the last time I was in London. My fave was the pool area. I try to stay there or The Athenaeum (which has a Pink Laduree Tea) depending on how long I'm in town. I keep looking @ plane tickets & I'm dying to see Sister Act. You've got me thinking a trip is in order.
