I LOVE cupcakes and I LOVE Starbucks so last year when Starbucks starting carrying the miniature delight I was thrilled! I often had to hold back because too many cupcakes would not be good news for Hopsy, but I would let myself indulge several times a week. I can be very picky when it comes to pastries. I have a sweet tooth, but a picky sweet tooth and I am happy to say the Starbucks cupcakes were NOT a let down! The chocolate was great, but the vanilla was amazing! The frosting was rich and wonderful and it had sugar around the edges. These cupcakes are a real treat! They were sort of centered around Valentine's Day last year and therefore only carried for a short time. Well, I went into Starbucks about a week and a half ago and was beyond thrilled to see cupcakes in the display again! This year they not only had chocolate and the divine vanilla, but red velvet too! Yum! You cannot get any better than these three flavors, can you?! Of course I had to treat myself last week and I was not disappointed. The vanilla still remains at the top of my list, but the new red velvet is delicious too! I am not one for the super cream cheesy frosting (I prefer mother's non cream cheese recipe to be honest) and this was not over done. The cupcake is light and the frosting thick- just the way I like my cupcakes! If you have not tried any of this cupcakes I insist that you treat yourself this week, you will not be disappointed!Monday, February 2, 2009
