So many of you have kindly asked about cousin Henry (click and you will be taken to his Caring Bridge site which is updated daily- Henry and the family LOVE any and all guestbook entries!) in recent posts. Things are going well, but there is still NO movement on the left side of his body. However, the new hospital has really lifted his spirits. It is so wonderful to be around other children who may be in a similar boat and the facilities are simply magnificent. I have been unable to visit Henry at Gillette, but I toured the hospital in college as it was connected to Sigma Chi's Derby Days. My aunt posted this photo of Henry yesterday:

It is both a happy and sad photo. It is SO wonderful that Henry is awake, but it makes me a bit sad because his left side is so weak and helpless (he cannot even fully smile). However, God is good and we must NEVER forget He has a plan. Of course it would be nice for Henry to have bounced back as soon as he woke up, but that is not God's plan for him. As we trust in Him we will better understand His plan! For now I will continue to concentrate on all the positive. Henry is SO lucky to be alive and be able to move at all (there are other children at Gillette that are forever paralyzed from the waist down). It may be a long journey, but I am hopeful it will have a VERY HAPPY ending!

Thank goodness Henry is making such good progress. He looks good despite his injuries.
God is so amazing! We will continue to pray for Henry and your family!
He is looking great, especially when you consider what he has been through!:) I will continue to pray for him and your family! God most definitely has a plan for your darling cousin! :)
God is good. My grandson was in an accident and suffered a very severe TBI, with his brain shirred in 3 places. We had the same trials that you are enduring. That was 21/2 yrs. ago. He is now physically healed and is finishing his Engineering Degree at ASU and will graduate in May. Continue to praise God for every day and every improvement. He is faithful. Hugs, Marty
This makes me so happy to read. He looks like he is in good spirits... I can't imagine what you and your family are going through. I wish Henry the best!
I'm so happy to hear how well he is doing & improving each day!!
This is great news! I am confident he will recover!
I am glad he is progressing! I have faith that he will make a full recovery.
He looks so good considering what could have happened! At least he is smiling, even though it must be so hard for him. He is so young and I hope his left side comes back!
His attitude will help his recovery immeasurably!
...I love his t-shirt. :)

It is so encouraging to see him sitting up and waving after such dire reports earlier. Please keep us update on his progress.
I am glad to see him up and he is in better spirits. God will continiue to look after him!
Is he adorable or what?!? Did your family just get the cute genes? I am so very thankful for his improvements! God is good and His love endures forever! I did visit the Caring Bridge site. I didn't leave a message, but please pass my best wishes and hugs onto them! So happy about this good news!
I am so glad Henry is making progress, and so glad to hear you vocalize that God has a plan. He does indeed, and sometimes it seems harsh to our eyes, but God loves each of us more than we could ever imagine... thanks for the update please continue to update us!
Still praying for Henry, so it is so good to see his picture. He is one handsome young man!! I know he will be getting the best care and rehab treatment now, so he will make a lot of progress, I feel sure. God has the master plan and will work things out for Henry. We just have to trust Him. Love & blessings from NC!
So much to be thankful for! Henry is alive, awake and looks great!! Healing from a trauma like Henry experienced will take time. Have patience and faith. I'll keep him in my prayers.
Great to see a happy picture - here's more hoping for continued up and up for him :-)
Believe in the power of God and a persons strength... My mother had a stroke and was told she would never walk again now she walks 2 miles a day. She even broke both of her legs after her stroke and has recovered all over again!! God is good!! Have faith and know your cousin is in my prayers!
God is Good!! I will continue to pray for Henry!
my mom is a big believer in "3s" when it comes to healing- 3 hours, 3 days, 3 weeks... he is doing so well, so fast and is in many people's thoughts and prayers.

Glad to hear he is doing well!
I'm so glad you did an update. I am keeping him and your family in my thoughts. Hopefully his road to recovery will be a full one and a smooth one.
Thanks so much for the update! Let's pray for his continuing recovery.
Thanks for the update! I am praying for continued recovery for your sweet cousin Henry. It is great to see him awake!
That is great that he is improving and wonderful that he is at the hospital he's at now so he can relate with the others there. I will keep him in my prayers as he continues towards a full recovery!
I am mortified and covering my face in shame that I didn't comment on this news yesterday when I visited your site. My prayers will continue to be said for Henry.
