I have some of the SADDEST NEW E.V.E.R!
I have been trying to call Catherine ALL morning, literally every five minutes. I finally resorted to trying to send a fax, but that line was oddly enough busy. Well, after about an hour and 15+ tries of calling direct I had the brilliant idea to call the concierge at the Westin which is next door (when I want to get something done I will go to the extreme). Kind concierge informed me that he believed my BELOVED Catherine was closing or had already closed. He even went outside to check for me and when he came back he confirmed that Catherine was indeed no more. He was unable to offer an exact reason, but said the news came as a shock to all stores on the darling, little rue and that the closing was very recent. I am just heart broken. This is tres, tres, TRES sad! I have gone through all my notes and agendas to see if I may for some reason have the owners information, but no such luck. I have resorted to emailing a writer (whom I consider a dear friend for introducing me to Catherine) to see if she may have the personal contact information for the owner or any of the bag vendors. I just cannot believe my favorite shop in Paris is gone, I hope Laduree is not next! I am going to resume my mourning session for the next thirty minutes then I am off to meet Lulu!! Thank goodness for that or else this day really might be a long one!

She said she has NEVER received such a reaction to a store closing so I am holding out that someday, somewhere they may reopen!! Until then I will cherish and take VERY good care of my current bags!!

Oh nooo! My Mom was going to get me a bag when they went to the St. Tropez this summer! Sniffle...
No! I was hoping to take you up on your idea of maybe taking orders...
I'm sorry I know how much you loved that shop.
That is so sad. I've been dreaming about one of those bags since your first post about them.
How sad! I was hoping to buy a Catherine bag some day.
uugggh, hate it when a fav' disappears into thin air
kHm
So terrible! Well at least you are lucky enough to own several! We can only hope she will return someday soon.
Oh no! I was hoping you would start your own distribution business here in the U.S. :(
GASP!!!! What are we going to do? Do you think that you might happen upon a fine craftsman in India? They are known for their leather goods as well. Now, the hunt is on.
I'm still thinking about wether or not you could talk the owners into making an order. Wishful thinking, maybe?
NOOO!! That was going to be my next "big" purchase!! What a shame.
How horrible! I am so sorry! Those bags were truly a fantastic find! It's a shame you didn't find out before they closed as I'm sure between you and all your blogging friends, we could have bought out the store! :)
I am so sorry for your loss. I will hold out on your hope that they reopen someday!
I am in mourning too! I think you should try and contact the owners and see if they will give you the rights to open your own store in Dallas! :)
Oh no! Make sure you have sleeper bags for all of your bags
Oh Hopsy, I'm so sorry for your loss. Hugs.
So sad for you! I know how near and dear to your heart that little shop was....here's to hoping you'll find the owner!
So sorry to hear this news! Your Catherine bags are awesome and I know you must be sooo disappointed.
I am soo sad about this!! I was in Paris a little over a year ago and got one of their bags. I own a few. I will miss them.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO
OMG I am so glad you got me one before. I really wanted a white one!
