It's In the Case!

Well, not every day can be perfect and today was the unperfect day for me. It was not a bad day just, just a sick day as I came down with the terrible stomach flu that has hit Dallas. I was hit late yesterday afternoon, but made it through the early evening and was good to go until I arrived home. Today has been full of rest so hopefully I will be good to go tomorrow and for this weekend! I will try and get back to emails tonight but for now here is a fun little post to make us all feel better!
For the past few months I have wanted to invest in a nice, leather jewelry box. I loved the ones from Pottery Barn, but sadly I have my mind set on pink and it is no longer available through them. While I would LOVE a Smythson jewelry box, I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around spending over $2000 on something that will sit on my vanity. I thinking it might be better to buy a new sofa or dresser. So, I have researched less expensive and affordable options.
This is my top choice right now. However, of course it is has to be on back order. I just think the size is perfect and the color would look fabulous with my pink toile bedding. As many boxes do this also comes with a travel case and even a mirror for trying things on!

This lime green box is very appealing too. While I do love the pink and it best matches my abode, I could not resist including this box. I forget what website I found it on, but it had a very small price tag for such a beauty.

This option is from Red Envelope (high $200's). I love the color and the fact that all the compartment apparently pull out for easy access!

I actually found this on eBay and boy is it a steal (well under $70). It is huge (maybe even too big?) as you can see and again, the travel case is such a plus!
Just for fun I had to include the coveted Smythson. The color is oh, so perfect and the quilted lining is such beautiful detail!

You always find the best stuff! Hope you get to feeling better. I got some great little goodies for my pink swap partner today, I'm so excited! =)

Hope you are feeling better. A bunch of my friends that live in DC were also hit with this - it seems to be traveling through the country!

Great options for a jewelry box! The one I received for Christmas has a top compartment, 2 drawers, and doors on each side and I have to say it is the perfect size. Anything larger would have completely overwhelmed my bureau.

p.s. I may take you up on your NYC UES restaurant suggestions once we finalize our weekend itinerary :)

Awwww...hope you feel better soon!! Take care of yourself, Hopsy :-) Yes, $2000 for a jewelry box does seem a little steep... when a sofa would get so much more use. Another option that is not leather - the Reed & Barton (on their website) jewelry boxes that have the plate on the jewelry box for monogramming. These really are quite nice.

I just love the Red Envelope one. My mother received a beautiful (and big!) ivory leather jewelery case as a wedding present, and I have fond childhood memories of trying on her jewelery and admiring it in the little mirror inside! She passed it on to me when I moved out of the house, and it is one of my favorite "family heirlooms"!

Oh my, I hope you feel better! The stomach flu is no fun at all. These jewelry cases are so pretty and pink, I would have a hard time choosing. I am so glad you have everything set up for Junior League! Wow, that is a tough process. Luckily I only had to have one sponsor. I bet your mom is so proud to have you follow in her footsteps :) I hope you feel much better tomorrow!

Please feel better :)
Stomach flu's are the worst.
I love the cases, esp the lime green. Although I adore pink, the green would match so much better in my bedroom. I really need a case-it's been a long time since I had a new one, thanks for the inspiration.

Feel better! I cannot think of anything worse than the stomach virus.
All of these jewelry boxes are so pretty, but I especially love the one from Red Envelope.

Oh Hopsy, I'm sorry you are ill. Wishing you a speedy recovery!!

You def need a pink jewelry case! But in my opinion, the $2K would be better spent on a sofa.

O hope you feel better asap!

A company named Rowallan makes gorgeous leather jewelry boxes in a multitude of colors (including multiple pinks!). They also make a lot of travel accessories to coordinate as well. I don't know if any of the ones you poster are by Rowallan but if not definitely check them out!

Sorry you aren't feeling up to par. I hope you feel better soon!! I would have a hard time paying $2,000 for a jewelry box. It is beautiful, but the others are equally as nice. I love the pink!! I am having so much fun shopping for the pink swap! Thanks again for co-ordinating that. Take care of yourself.
Love & blessings!

Hi, Hopsy! I haven't left you a formal comment before, and in fact, I am still sorta new to the whole blogging world :) I absolutely LOVE all of your posts - they are so very 'me'! I wanted to let you know that Michael's craft store had very cute jewelry boxes (similar to the ones you've posted). You might want to check them out :) Have a fabulous day (Lilly style ;) )

I love them all - but especially the lime green and Smithyson ones. Honestly, it is a good investment piece. I have one from when I was a child that my mother gave me - and it is wood, and was my great-grandmothers!

Always such good taste!

I like your top choice as well! Maybe if you go ahead and order it the shipment will be faster than what the company says!

Oh no!!! I hope you feel much better soon!! I think we are on the same wavelength because I was thinking this morning while digging my earrings out of a little shell plate on my dresser that a jewelry box would be a nice addition and increase getting dressed time efficiency! :) Love your choices!

Oh! The Smythson one is gorgeous!!!

First of all, there is no such thing as a "too big" jewelry box! ;) Secondly, LOVE the choices you came up with. All are darling!

You know what? Right before Christmas I saw a hot pink leathery looking one (looked like a lot of these in your pics) at TJ Maxx. I remember holding it up to my daughter and saying I'd LOVE one of these. I think it was $24.99 (which is high for TJs so it shows it was a good quality one probably)....now the question is..
WHY DIDN'T I GET IT????

(d'oh)

May I ask where you found the pink and green ones?

Before my closest favorite jeweler closed down, I loved to peruse the leather jewelry cases. They are still in town, just on the other side of the city and further thank I usually go. I would love something to put on my dresser instead of using my jewelry armoire.
