Blue and White Delight!

Those of you that have been reading know of my mother's extreme love for all things blue and white. Well, I was tyring to come up with an idea of something smaller, but full of detail that I could present her with. I wanted it to be something she could take to India and really enjoy. It suddenly dawned on me that I needed to contact Anne Harwell of Annechovie and see if she would ever do a commissioned piece. Seeing as I only had a little more than two weeks to get this done, I was unsure if she could accommodate during her busy season. However, AH is just as kind a can be and ever so talented too! She not only painted a little, blue willow plate for mother she created and amazing work of art! As an art history student I have a deep appreciation for real works of art and would rather spend money on something authentic than a framed post card. AH is simply amazing! Her style is just up my alley (and many of yours' a well!) and she is always willing to work with you and get things just right. You can even send her photos that she will copy a room (mother is going to have this done with our upstairs sitting room which is shown several posts below) or piece just for you. Her prices are unbeatable too! If you are in the market I cannot speak more highly of Anne Harwell! If you have not already done so you must check out her blog and her etsy store. I promise you will be hooked!
Here is a close up of the plate she painted. This was posted on Annechovie this past week (please refrain from copying it as it is copy written by the artist, thank you!) and isn't it simply divine? I am thinking I might have another done for myself as well as several other blue and white pieces. They would look darling hanging together in an entry or den. I have several other ideas for series, but I must keep those a secret until I put them on paper!

Love your Mom's gift!! I went to the artists' website and don't you just love the picture of the arched niche with all the blue willow in it? What a neat painting! Maybe your Mom would like that one. I love her mugs with the sayings on them too. Thanks for introducing her.
Love & blessings!

That is so beautiful! I know your mother will just love it, it's so special. The Lilly dress was a hit at the meeting and worked wonders as well! It's so great that many of us are getting involved in Junior League all over the country!

My mom is such a blue-and-white lover as well as a hanger of plates. My friends always thought it was strange too, but that is so normal for me that I have several hanging in my house too! Love this addition to your mom's collection! How thoughtful!

I love Annechovie. I had the pleasure of meeting Anne herself at a local country club show this past fall. She is so sweet and I'm so glad she was able to do this piece for you :)
