The Wrapping Has Begun!

Wrapping gifts can be as fun as you make it! Though it can be time consuming the end result is well worth it. I love wrapping gifts and have fun doing it. I can often be particular about having neat corners and the perfect bow, but I am willing to work with a gift and bring out it's full potential.
Select heavier papers to make wrapping easier. I have found that the nicer papers leave me with cleaner edges thus leading to a more elegant presentation. Also, select ribbons that are fun, but also not impossible to work with. The less expensive satins are not the best in my opinion. Ribbons with a hint of wire make all the difference and allow you to position a bow just as you like it! I simply adore the gold glitter ribbon (above left) that I found at Michael's. It is perfect for the holidays and dresses up even the most simple of papers. I tend to pair it with a gold paper with glitter polka dots- it is stunning!
Finally, I love to add embellishments to gifts. They really spice things up and can take personalization to an entirely new level. Plus, in the end most can double as ornaments!
Oh the joys of wrapping! For a detailed look into the art of gift wrapping I highly suggest looking at Presentations by Carolyn Rhoem. It is full of photos and ideas that are certain to inspire you to take wrapping to a whole new level. Now if I can just master floral arrangements I can become the next Carolyn Rhoem.

You did such a beautiful job! It's better than the gift wrappers at a dept store! Good job!

Looking good! Do you have a Hobby Lobby nearby? They have some wrap with fleur de lis and snowflakes on it. I'm not sure how good the quality is, but as a Kappa you may like it.

What beautifully wrapped gifts those are! Thanks so much for the wrapping tips.

I always like to do bows similar those, but I think that yours are prettier.

I love to wrap, too!! My paper this year is red/white. One roll is red with "naughty" written in white/the other is white with "nice" written in red! I use grosgrain ribbon for all my wrapping. I think grosgrain does wonders for anything! Your packages are so elegant. Lovely!

What gorgeous gifts! And how on the ball you are that you are already wrapping! The packages remind me of my mom's, she always uses pretty wire ribbon like that.

Your wrapping is beautiful! I have to say I am the same way about the corners being perfect. I feel that half of the gift is the way if is presented!

That's cute! I usually go with fancy paper, but this year, I learned that St. Jude is selling paper. So, my paper will be designed by kids this year! I'm so excited! It will be precious, I'm sure!

Beautiful packages!

Not to be corny, but I like to try to use recyclable or "green" wrapping paper. The shinier papers are usually not so earth-friendly. I also think craft paper can look pretty with the right ribbon. Plus, I'm always collecting ribbon to reuse!

I saw that bird at Target!

These are beautiful! I agree that a nicer quality of paper makes for better wrapping. The presentation of things can make all the difference! Wasn't that crazy about the woman in the story I posted? I agree, I think she took it a little too far :) Thanks for the nice comment on my party outfit. Your work's 20th anniversary celebration sounded fun!! Happy Friday!
