I cant pick just one, so I'll share all three; my favorite christmas ornaments are my okra santa's (painted to look just like a long skinny santa!), and my Hallmark moving ornaments (the carousel is my favorite!), and I love my handmade monogrammed elfish stocking!

I think my favorite ornament is the silly rice "lollipop" that I made when I was in pre-school. It sheds rice every year but, my mom still has it and still puts it up. I guess I'm just kind of proud that it's lasted this long!

I used to love to put out the nativity when I was growing up. I especially loved putting the angel on the top of the stable. Now that I am married, we have our own nativity that we purchased in Mexico on our honeymoon. I hope that my son will enjoy this as he grows.

Great give-away! My favorite Christmas item is my childhood stocking. It has sequins on it and is so blissfully gaudy. My mother still hangs it up every year.

My favorite Christmas decoration is my collection of King Arthur carved santa's. King Arthur was the artists call sign in Vietnam and each santa reminds him of a friend who did not make it home. They all have a personal touch (holding something like a dog, teddy bear, book). They are simply beautiful.

My favorite Christmas decoration...that's a tough one! It would be either the little tiffany box ornament my mom gave me or a little angel ornament I made as a child.

My favorite christmas ornament is a sterling silver cross that has the birthdates of everyone on my mother's side of the family from my great grandmother down to my daughter...the youngest adult female member of the family is the keeper of the cross and must get the new dates engraved..it dates back to the 1880's and hangs in a shadowbox during the holidays and in a safe deposit box the rest of the year...i love having something that connects me to my relatives that are no longer with us during the holidays

My favorite decoration is new - it is an animated nutcracker duck! The cutest thing!

Thanks for the great giveaway!

Katie Lake said...

My favorite would have to be a Nutcracker. Not just because I love going to the performances (wouldn't be all like to be Clara?) every year but because I remember my mother collecting them. When it came time to put out the decorations she would line up her favorites across the mantle! I also secretly like tinsel just because it is shiny!

My favorite christmas decoration is the old woodland forest Santa that my mom got me my first Christmas as a wife. That was over ten years ago and still, when I pull it out of the box, I get that warm tingly feeling I got when I was a newlywed decorating our home for Christmas for the first time!

Busy Mom said...

My favorite Christmas Decoration is my nativity. My mom purchased it when she was a teenager living in Italy and gave it to me for my first Christmas that my husband and I married. I love the smell when I open the box and I love that it is the TRUE meaning of the season!!

All of them have special meanings ... like I have a yellow taxi cab for all of our trips to NYC, I have a golf tee from a time we went to the Masters, I have a pair of iceskates bc all of my friends from high school would go skating together each christmas. Things like that. I LOVE pulling them out each year and being flooded with great memories!

My favorite Christmas decoration is my 12 Days of Christmas House of Hatten ornaments. They were designed by Denise Calla for House of Hatten in 1989. They are priceless to me since they are no longer made (and George W has them in the White House)!!!

Picking a favorite is quite difficult because I L-O-V-E Christmas. If I had to choose, it would have to be a miniature nativity set my mom bought for me about 20 years ago. It has a little manger you put together and the tiniest of people and animals to put inside.

My favorite Christmas decoration is an ornament my family has had for as long as I can remember. We are from Baltimore and love crabs. The ornament is a crab shell made to look like Santa. Santa hat, jingle bell and cotton beard and all. Very, very Baltimore :)

A Christmas tree is my favorite. As a kid (and um...perhaps as an adult too....) I would lay under the tree and just look up at the lights and colors. It's so pretty and relaxing. I also love to just watch the snow fall from my warm bed with a hot beverage in hand.

Katheryn said...

My favorite decoration for Christmas is the nativity. We place it front and center in our family room to keep our focus on the real meaning for this special time of year. My boys love to arrange (and re-arrange!) the figures as they await the birth of the King. On Christmas Eve, we read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, then we cozy up together as Daddy reads from Luke 2. Then the youngest gets to set baby Jesus in the manger as we head off to bed with the wonder of Christmas in our hearts.

My favorite decoration is my toilet paper roll manger scene made by my oldest son when he was in preschool. Awesome!

Growing up, my family had a tradition of making our own tree ornaments, since we didn't have much money. Each year, we would choose a new design and spend hours as a family making enough to fill the tree. I still make them for my own tree. Each one is special, becasue it reminds me of the year when...

Thanks for the give-away. I know this artist personally. She is SO talented.

My favorite Christmas item is something my family calls our "Santa Mantle". In our den where we have our family tree, the fireplace mantle is covered with different Santa Claus'. They range from wonderful ones from Neiman's to one that my brother and I made out of popsicle sticks in kindergarden. It's my favorite part of christmas placing the Santa's with my mother.

I have to ask, is there a way to purchase that "It's Christmas Ya'll" sign?? My best friend and mother would LOVE one! thanks!

My favorite Christmas decoration is my ornaments on my LR tree. They were all handmade by my grandmother and her sisters. Silk ornaments with velvet ribbons, crystals, pearls, sequins, etc. In colors of pink and red and green and blue and white, etc. I was somehow the lucky one that inherited them and proudly place them on my tree everyear.

i love my advent calendar. it's probably older than I am and every day you "move the mouse" into the pockets that count up to Christmas Eve. It was even featured in "Four Christmases" randomly!

Northern Girl Southern Living said...

It's not so much an ornament as the way we decorate our stairs every year. They are wrapped in garland and lights all the way up that match the tree and look so pretty at night :)

The Heckathorns said...

My favorite ornament(s) are the my three children's "1st christmas" ornaments. It's special b/c it just reminds me of their first christmases. My two boys were both two months old on their first christmas and my daughter was 6 months old on hers...and looking at those ornaments reminds me of how time has just flown by since then. :( It's a happy and bittersweet time for me b/c I know they aren't going to stay small forever, but the ornaments will always remind me of their first Christmases! :)
