Boots Take Two

Well I am being incredibly indecisive on the boots! I spoke with mother who says I should just wait until March to have a pair custom made in India, but that is a bit far off! Anyway, she said go for the Tory's which I then researched and found out they were rubber so that was a no go for sure. Mother also said no to the LL Bean because she thought they would look frumpy on me and I am not sold on the Lilly because I do not have enough chocolate brown to wear them with hence why I am hooked on tan.chestnut. I ADORE the Lilly style, but why buy something that will match just a few things I own? So I was back to square one until a reader emailed me these:

Aren't they great? They are similar to the LL Bean but look as if the calf would be tighter. These are also on sale for $99 at Macy's so maybe I can find a Macy's coupon since they pretty much run them daily and get a real steal. Or maybe I should listen to mother and just hold out until India... Thoughts for round two of the dilemma?

I originally looked at the Tory boots but wasn't thrilled about the rubber either.

I think the idea of custom made boots is pretty tempting. March will come sooner than you think. If they are custom, you can get exactly the color and shape that you want!

I agree with Lucy on this. I would wait and get them custom in India. Think about your response when people compliment you?

"Ohh where can I buy them?"

"You can't. They were custom made."

:-)

If you can't resist, I would possibly buy a cheap pair now and then also get a pair custom done. Good luck and I can't wait to see which way you go!

I have the LEATHER Tory Burch Jackson riding boots and love them. I have the black, but I know that they come in brown as well. I think they may even be on sale at neimanmarcus.com

If you are at Macy's see if you like the boots pictured and try them on. If you don't like, then I'd wait until March.

Maybe if you wait until after Christmas you can find a pair on sale for a great price; those can take care of you until March when you get a custom pair! Def go Custom :-)

I would wait for march too, you'll get exactly what you want, a perfect fit, shape and colour!

plus, they will probably end up working out at roughly the same price, if not cheaper!

one of my favourite things to do whilst in india/ sri lanka, is buy a ton of pure silk at the markets etc [super cheap!!] and then have it made up into the most fabulous skirts and dresses!

I like these best.

I agree the LL Bean ones looked a little frumpy... I liked the Rubber aspect to the TB boots, but only b/c I am in NY & Chicago & am usually caught in a downpour somewhere!!

I like these best...you can still get custom made in India, however, by April it will be hot in Texas, no?

For $99 ORDER THEM!!!!!!!!! Macy's normally has coupons in the paper for additional savings too! Actually, I want a pair too. They are a classic boot, will never go out of style and the color is "neutral" - you can wear with black or brown. 2 cents over. ;-)

I really like the color of the Macy's boots. Although a custom pair is extremely tempting!

If you're looking for boots with a narrow calf, try Tahari. I had trouble with boots looking huge and frumpy until I found a pair of flat, black Tahari ones on sale last year.

When you can't decide...buy them both! Look after Christmas for the Macy's boots or get a coupon like you said (then you will get a great deal) and then you won't feel bad about getting a second pair, the custom boots in India.

melissabritt said...

For $99 def do both!! BTW, who makes them? These you can have for now & until you tire of them...the custom pair you will have forever. Besides, the custom pair you won't get to wait until next winter.

These are really cute and the price is great! I do think a custom made pair would be great, but these might work for the meantime.

Enjoy your week!

I love those! You are probably right about finding and additional savings coupon. I would get them NOW! If you wait until March, you wouldn't be able to wear them at all this year, and the style might be out next year!

Very cute, I think these would look great! Then you can get some custom ones in March.

I'm such a bad influence, but I say for $99 get the boots AND get a custom pair made in India :)

Ohh, those are lovely. But, a custom pair would be utterly divine. And, um, we'd all be slightly jealous--but in a we're so happy for you kind of way. The good kind :)

i would be frivolous and get the boots now and a custom pair. the custom pair will have to wait until next fall anyway and you know you want to wear boots NOW! good luck!

Oh my goodness...I am just so completely enticed by the idea of custom made boots!!!

I love love the Lilly boots too and would buy them in a skinny minute if they came in a lighter caramel color. I honestly think you should wait until your trip to Inida. I've never had a pair of shoes custom made but it sounds like a fabulous idea!

Wait and get the custom made ones. Its better to have something that no one else will have! Just imagine having the perfect boots that no one else can have!
