Fall is upon Dallas and it made for a wonderful weekend! After work on Friday I headed to Nordstroms with LL to get items at Bobbi Brown and pick out a necklace. The one at BR was just way too big, and I mean big as in HUGE beads that are larger then Mrs. Flinstone's! Anyway, my favorite department store came through for me. Within five minutes of walking in I had already purchased a fabulous new necklace I can wear all the time! The evening was so much fun and the dress was fabulous. It fit perfectly and could not have been any more comfortable. There were two bands at the event; one played Frank Sinatra and other, classic oldies for the first part of the party then the 80's cover band began. Such a fun and memorable evening!
Kappa girls at DCC. My dress looks super low here for some reason, but it was not!
The Spazmatics- this was one of the two bands that played. They did 80's music, my favorite! Apparently I am just not with it because I thought they were going to be comedians; I mean from the name what was I supposed to think! On Saturday afternoon C, LL and I headed to American Airlines Center for the 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Stars. We had a-m-a-z-i-n-g seats and an absolute blast! All the 2008, USA medal winners were present and we even shook some of their hands. I had never really been to a live gymnastics event before and the athletes just blow you away. They literally float on air.
At AAC- Hopsy is looking a bit too pale.
Nastia right before she high fived all of us!!
Shawn Johnson dancing to Hannah Montana.
BFFs Shawn and Nastia
Nastia is so close yet so far!
TEAM USA men! The Hamm brothers even made an appearance!
Bronze medal men break dancing to the Backstreet Boys!Since Dallas was full of people and terrible traffic as a result of the TX-OU game LL and I decided to order a pizza and watch Sex and the City last night. The movie was great the second time around and I just loved Miranda's Mexico purse. Did anyone else notice it?
This morning we all headed to church and had brunch at Craft afterwards. I just love their brunch and do not think I will ever tire of it. After reading all about everyone's Old Navy finds I headed out to Galleria to check the store out for myself. I bought three of the ruffle cardigans (they were on sale for $20), a black, pleated skirt and two pink bracelets. After my mini shopping spree I decided to rest up for this week and turned on What Happens in Vegas before cleaning.
What a wonderful weekend it truly has been. Thank you all for your wonderful birthday wishes for mother. She made it make from India and is now getting ready for her big trip: coming to see me in two weeks! Have a marvelous Monday all!!
