A Burberry Overdose. Go to the Kiosk in the Mall that sells all the Fake Burberry Stuff, or, better yet, hit up Friends Who Love Burberry Too Much, and see how many items of clothing in the Signature Plaid you can wear at One Time. Extra Points if you Dress Up a Small Pet, too(EtiquetteGrrls). If you are not a fan of Burberry try another fun plaid. Oh, and if you have Scottish roots go ahead and look up your family plaid and consider wearing that!
Something from Tiffany's. Dress entirely in light blue. Tie a white ribbon around yourself (EtiquetteGrrls). I had a friend that did this freshman year of college and it was very cute. I would also suggest you get a big cut out of a heart, paint it silver and write: "Please Return to Tiffany & Co."
Early-1980's Prep. Model your outfit after one of the line-drawings in The Preppy Handbook (EtiquetteGrrls). Classic and safe; always, always!
A bottle of champagne! Dress in a festive dress, something that sparkles would be ideal, and carry around a bottle of bubbles and blow them (LLH). You might even walk around with a toast book and a bottle of champagne. If pink is your color why not make it known and go as pink champagne?!
Tape Smarties all over your pants.. You can be a Ms./Mrs. Smarty Pants (USA Today)
If you want something incredibly easy (and even slimming) I suggest going as a cat. Wear black spandex and a black top then buy a set of ears with the little tail. I wore this for my cousin's Halloween carnival one year and it was perfect!
Since equestrian is hot on the runways go as a rider (or Kate Middleton)! Wear your cute boots with the pants or jodhpurs tucked in. A crisp white button down and jacket with a pin would be ideal, but get creative with the top half. Carry around a helmet and whip (and a Longchamp if going as KM) and you are set and looking stylish for the evening.
This might be a bit far fetched, but hey it could work. Super size your initials and print them out on three pieces of paper. Wear a darling outfit and tape the letter to yourself and go as a monogram.
Even though it is after Labor Day wear all white. Save all your Starbucks cup sleeves and glue them to create one large sleeve you can wear as a belt. Enlarge a Starbucks logo and tape it to your chest and go as your favorite drink.
Get all your Lilly out and mix and match. You can go as Summer or Easter Monday!
So what is your costume of choice for 2008? As mentioned, I will be going as Martha. I am not sure on the exact outfit I will be wearing, but I assure you my pink and green toile and grosgrain, skirt apron will be tied around my waist. I might carry a copy of the magazine and a pink spatula. I also plan to carry treats on my pink and green Cynthia Rowley tray. What fun! I hope you all enjoy this festive ideas. Some are a bit off the wall, but they are all fun. Get creative and have a good time on All Hallow's Eve!

I love your ideas but what is Easter Monday?
I absolutely love the idea of the Burberry costume! I was in the airport in Honolulu a few years ago and there was an elderly Japanese couple seated near me at the gate...both dressed HEAD to TOE in matching Burberry plaid. It was quite amusing! Some folks just don't get the concept of "too much of a good thing", eh? Honestly, I have never viewed Burberry the same since! :-)
Wish I was going to a Hopsy organised Halloween Party - all those outfits sounds FABULOUS - I would be hard pressed to decide which one to wear!
I am really surprised that someone that claims to be so Republican, pro-America and so proper that you won't write the word "slut" (is this a bad word?) would suggest buying "Fake Burberry Stuff"...when pretty much everyone with a brain knows that money from the sale of counterfeit items funds drugs and terrorism!
If you don't believe me then just Google counterfeit items and terrorism it and find out. There have been many congressional reports on the topic.
Great costume ideas! Thanks for sharing them; I'm not sure if I'll be dressing up this year but if I do I will definitely use one of your ideas :)
Fabulous ideas!
We have a Halloween party every year, but this year it has to be the day after-thinking of changing the theme...
very very cute ideas!!!
ummmmm excuse me...i noticed that you didn't have ketchup and mustard on this list...please remedy this situation. thx! haha
Great ideas! My sister and her friend are going as Jackie O. and Audrey Hepburn this year--can't go wrong there!
I am thinking I may go as Kate Middleton or as Alice in Wonderland. Mary Janes, ivory tights - tres chic this Fall!
These ideas are terrific! LOVE THEM ALL! I wish I could go as KM but I strive to look like her everyday so prob won't work for me ;-) Hope you are having a fabulous day!! xoxo
Those are cute ideas :) I still havne't decided what to be!
aw martha stewart, thats a great costume idea! i am usually a game show contestant, and i just cant pick a game show for this year!
Those are adorable ideas. I don't have any money to really go out and buy pieces (I love the equestrian idea but I have nothing for it lol) so unless I can think of something else, I'm going to be a beauty queen/prom queen. I have a deep purple prom dress (from 10th grade!!) that I'm gonna wear. Of course, all I'll be doing is answering the door to any kids that perchance come to our door (I'm gonna try to convince my mom to do at least a LITTLE decoration so maybe we'll get some more kids, rather than just leave the light on).
Again, fabulous ideas!!
Fun ideas!! Unfortunately, TCP Toddler is the only one who will be dressing up at our house this year!
i am considering copying your martha idea! super cute!
I was Martha two years ago and loved it!! My hubby thought he would be funny, so he went as her ankle bracelet that she had to wear in jail. He wore all black and fashioned this cardboard black box with a little red light that would light up off and on. He stamped a prison number on it and everything. It was very creative, but since Martha is my hero, I had to pout! ;) I went as "gardening" Martha- I had a gardener's apron on, with khaki pants, a Martha style button up shirt, my gardening clogs, a big, cute straw gardening hat, and I carried around tools and had gloves in my pocket. Oh, and I wore a blond bob wig since I have dark hair. It was so cute! Can't wait to see pictures!!
Your Martha Stewart costume sounds like fun! It is hard to choose a tasteful Halloween costume.
Enjoy your week!
These are some super cute ideas!
If you need to "enhance" your Martha costume, you could always discretely wear a pair of handcuffs or an ankle "bracelet" monitoring device!
Don't get me wrong - I LOVE Martha, but either would make for a good laugh!!!
Fabulous ideas...thank you! I LOVE the idea of the Tiffany's costume...ADORABLE!
The Tiffany box idea is so "K"ute and so Kappa! Love it.
What lovely ideas! I don't want to give away my halloween idea but it is SUPER CUTE!
Very cute ideas!!! The champagne one is something that would be so easy to do for a last minute Halloween party!
I'm going to be Dick Tracy for Halloween this year... I'll be reusing the costume for Comic-Con later next year.
I love Halloween!
I love the equestrian idea. I amy have to pull my riding habit out!
love the "preppy handbook" - I have my mom's original edition. you should def hit that look! ciao girl!
Great ideas! I love the monogram idea. That is very umique!
smarty pants = my fav!
Great ideas, all! Love the "smarty pants" one. I might have my mom bring my crop from home when she visits and go as a rider...although would I get harassed because of the S&M undertones? hmmm
So fun!
what fun ideas! makes me wish i were dressing up with some place fun to go on Halloween!
Can't wait to see you as Martha!
Thanks for sharing such creative ideas! I can't wait to see your Martha costume!
Wow, so many great ideas! I'm going to have to think about this...
I say go for Ms. Smarty! :) You could wear lil' round glasses w/ pigtails and bright colored ribbon to match colors of the candies..
Great ideas, Hopsy! I can't wait to see your official Halloween costume! Sidenote- did you know that there is a Burberry outlet at the Allen outlet Malls outside of big D? My mom mentioned it in passing this afternoon, and I thought of you immediately! she said they had raincoats (not sure if it was classic trench or no?) for over half the retail price... Swoon!
I'm thinking I may go as Sarah Palin. Now, I just need to find those glasses!
Great ideas. I am going to see Coldplay on Halloween so not sure if I am dressing up or not
