Two day getaway!

Well I am happy to let you all know I FINALLY figured out my day trip to Paris! I had been searching for a decent Chunnel fare for days and was lucky enough to come across a wonderful deal on the Eurostar website yesterday morning. I found out that since I am 23 I qualify as a youth and purchase a less expensive ticket. On Monday the youth tickets were still $250 plus it is another $80 to take the train into London (train travel in the UK is quite a lot). I had just about given up my search when yesterday morning I put in my dates one final time and like magic a ticket for $160 became available! I did not hesitate and purchased the ticket then and there. I will be taking the 5:25am train from London and arrive into Paris at 8:50am just in time for quick a pain au chocolate and cappuccino before hitting up the SALES! The French sales happen only twice a year and you can find AMAZING deals; think Porthault linens for 50%+ off the retail price and Longchamps and Herves for 20 to 40 Euros. Uh, it is wonderful! I will have just enough time to hit up all my favorite stores and hopefully the Louvre (I always have to stop and see the Joos van Cleve I did my thesis on) before departing at 4:16pm. I was a bit up in the air about this departure time until I sat down and thought about how European train stations were not the best evening hang out. All in all I could not be more excited! However, my mother called me last night and was able to get me and AMAZING room and deal at our fabulous London hotel: The Connaught! I had booked a different hotel after having a bit of a hotel fiasco yesterday afternoon (since my train departs so early I have to spend the night), but everything worked out for the best. Now I will be enjoying a delightful evening here:

I adore the Mayfair area and this hotel is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. In fact they just finished a one year renovation and the interior was all done by Nina Campbell! What a lucky girl I am indeed; I am counting down until next week! Thank you to all you new commentors, I cannot wait to start checking out your blogs!

When I studied abroad in Paris it was during the January "soldes"- however I was not on the Longchamp train then, if only I had known then what I know now because I am kicking myself thinking of those sales! Have a great time and take pictures if you buy anything!

YAY Paris! Call me if you see any deals at our store :)
Oh, and Mom wanted me to remind you to be on the lookout for Hermes deals while you are there, I am sure she will email you!

I am so jealous. The Porthault sale here doesn't even compare to Paris... I am sure of that. And Longchamp... and Herve..... ohh, I wish I were taking the Chunnel to Paris with you. Enjoy!

Don't you love it when plans come together! That sounds like a great trip.

You had asked me about the Kappa Group..no, I don't ever go. I used to..maybe I'll have to rejoin at some point. Also, you asked about B's costumes..the most special ones come from a store called Enchanted in NYC. The two you mentioned were actually just hand-me-downs, though.

Have a good night!

It kills me how much cheaper you can Longchamp and Herve Chapelier in Paris! My friend went recently and brought back a ton of the Le Pliage totes to sell to her friends. Have fun and be safe!
