Before I go on I want to thank all of you for commenting on "Calling All Readers." I am so excited that there are so many wonderful people out there that take the time out of their day to read my blog. I have already gone through and started to read some of yours, but next week (when I return from Trip 2) I am going to update my 'Daily Reads' list. You can all be sure you will get a proper shout out; thank you again!
As mentioned what a fantastic two days we had in Prague. On Thursday, we did a walking tour with a guide, Helena, and had the best time. Helena was so delightful and we all learned so, so much. I was especially surprised by the wonderful food in Prague. If you ever visit you MUST eat at Kampapark. The dinner we ate there was one of the best meals I have ever had, literally ever! I am no food critic, but I have eaten at my fare share of 'best' restaurants and this meal beat many by far! Yesterday's lunch at hotel Aria was also fantastic as was dinner at a local Italian place Helena told us we could not miss. After our tour M and I went to the famous ice cream bar and enjoyed some sweets. Uh, the trip was so wonderful and I am so glad I actually documented with photos! As promised, here are my two days in photos (FINALLY you can click to enlarge them...Angel, thank you for telling me about Picasa!):
A really odd photo of me at the hotel... I look quite short and stout and have an odd look on my face!
Pink and green even in Prague!
Rooftop views from lunch at Hotel Aria.
Yet again; splendid is it not?
The American Embassy!
Gothic style cathedral; my specialty!
Mmmmm gelato!
View before crossing the Charles Bridge.
On the Charles Bridge.
A sandstone Madonna and Child on the Charles Bridge (I did my thesis on 15th and 16th century Northern European Madonna and Child paintings, I can never resist M&C photos!).
A pink and green building!
I loved the pink geraniums in the third floor windows of this darling building.I took many more photos, but do not like when people overwhelm. I am off again tomorrow, but this time I am leaving Europe and traveling East until Monday. I am traveling to a part of the world I have always dreamt of visiting, I CANNOT wait! Here are a few clues:
*One of the most expensive hotels ever built is in this city.
*Real estate is booming!
*Tan will be my middle name after Sunday (N, think summer 2oo6).
Have a marvelous weekend and I will update if I can (the Internet fee in Prague was $35 a day so I hope you understand why I was a bit of a bad blogger)! I must day it was a bit painful on Wednesday evening and Thursday when I could not share anything with you all, I felt like I was letting people down. I promise next week will be better and full of lots of photos and even more fun!
