Day in the life: day one

Today has been quite the busy day! After a perfect night of sleep (thank goodness for getting 6+ hours on the airplane and not napping yesterday) I was up and at it early. I had breakfast and then everyone arrived. M and I unpacked her things and then decided it would be fun to make some cards. We had picked out a handful of fun papers and stickers at Micheal's before leaving and our creations turned out to be quite lovely!
After craft time we headed outside to take a walk. The weather was perfect again today: sunny and in the seventies with a delightful little breeze. I had spotted the new ducklings with their parents early this morning, but sadly we could not find them again (the picture will not upload, so sorry!). We enjoyed the gardens and blooming flowers instead and came back in just in time for a lunch of potato, leak soap and cheese and pita chips, yum! Afterwards, we watched an episode of American Dreams (of course I came prepared with my most important DVDs) and then M took a quick nap. While M got on England time I fed the swans and signets. This year there are eight signets and they are adorable! I hope they all make it, but I imagine they will as they are quite large.

Later this afternoon we enjoyed scones with clotted cream, our absolute FAVORITE (I skipped the tea as I had already enjoyed two cups of English Breakfast earlier and thought three might be a little over the top even in the land of afternoon tea). I ADORE tea time, it is my favorite part of the day while in the UK. I think it could perhaps be because I was born at 3:58pm so my mother would always tell me I was born just in time for tea. Anyway, back to life abroad, after our short tea we wrote SC a letter then watched a little Disney Chanel and part of Three Men and a Baby. Finally, we were able to get several cards games and a walk to the pound in before enjoying a delicious dinner!
I have been tagged by Muffy, but the laptop is going dead so I will update tomorrow. Also, get excited for all the new Kate and Wills news... straight out of Hello so you know it will be worth reading!

Okay...I love to read your blog, and I need you to fill me in on what you are doing in England. Are you staying with a family? I'm so curious. I must have missed the blog where you told about it. It is so fun to read your posts...I was a Kappa, too..at UT. I grew up in Dallas and still live here with my husband and two little boys. By reading about all of the places you like to go in Dallas, we are kind of on the same circuit...I'm just 15 years older. So, my days are spent going to the park, the pool, and the grocery store; it's a real treat to go to the mall! My 5 year old is actually at Vacation Bible School this week at your church, PCBC. Anyway, I just wanted to say "Howdy" and wanted you to fill me in where I've missed.
Thanks,
Amy

The cards are adorable!

I LOVE scones and clotted cream - luckily we have an amazing British grocery store here for all my Anglophile needs!
